When I select "chat history forever" for a particular contact, Skype crashes without any warning or error message. It start loading the lines and crashes when it reaches 1050 lines
How would I recover my chat history?
I'm running Skype 2.0.0.68 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS

To see what's the error you could try to start skype via a terminal.
Go to the terminal, enter cd /the/dir/where/skype/is , ./skype
and do the exact same thing you did. After that copy the log from the terminal and probably somebody will tell you what's the problem smile.png

Good luck !

There is no detailed error report. It just says "Aborted" in the terminal.

Sorry then... I can't help you sadsmile.png

You could try to delete you're skype profile ... Probably something messed up while skype was saving and now it can't be restored.

This is 99% due to a message with tabs inside present in your history, there was a bug with QT 4.4 and skype 2.0 solved in build .72 can you try it and see if now works?
