when i start skype, after a lot of time i get:

Another skype instance may exist....

i checked and only one instance of skype run...

any idea to import history

thanks

Instead of overwriting I suggest to just start Skype with the backup version of your profile (of course only IF it was a full backup of it).
It's always worked here.

As I already said DO NOT replace, just delete .Skype dir created by 1st Skype run and put the backup one directly, just copy or rename it to ~/.Skype
