Am running Skype 2.0.0.68 under Ubuntu 8.04.

Skype is very slow to come online, like several minutes. When it finally comes online, if I try skype test call it comes up with "problem with audio feedback".

When I try to check options/sound devices the system hangs and eventually comes up with "The window "Skype™" is not responding." and I must quit.

All recording and sound is fine with all other applications. This was happening even under Ubuntu 7.10.

What is happening please?
