How does one install the skype software on Nokia E51 and make free calls?

Thanks.

I use fring on my E51 though call quality is not always fantastic...currently no other Symbian WiFi skype app which works well...good luck!

Are there plans for a Symbian (Nokia) version of Skype? I'd really like a native Skype app for my E51 phone instead of relying on stuff like fring or nimbuzz. They just add yet-another-layer of servers to pass through before connecting you with the called party.

And that introduces lag-time. You talk, wait a while for the other party to respond etc.

Downloaded and installed N95, E61 and E71 versions on my E51. It works for instant messaging but anyone allows voice calls.

Wow! It's been over a year and no reaction to these posts from Skype developers! Recently I've become another happy owner of Nokia E51 and would like to use Skype on it. Skype team should really concentrate on E51 as it's a superb business class smartphone. IMHO, better than E61 showing 5:3 in extra features "competition".

There is no skype client for S60 based phones at this time except for the Skype Lite Client. It only allows calling from a small number of coutries which it routes through a local rate call to skype.

I know Skype are constantly looking to improve their software offering so who knows maybe something will come soon.
