Hi guys,
I would like to know why its is not possible to handle filetransfers with the skype api. I red the view topics about the problem, but they only says that is not possible but nobody seems to know the reason. Im currently writing an article for my university which handles exactly this subject. I would be very thankful if one of the skype delevoper members would tell something about this. Its it a feature mentioned on the to do list or is this feature not implemented because of security reasons?
Thank you in advance.

..is this feature not implemented because of security reasons?..
The regular answer is that it's a security risk. I suspect another reason is to prevent Skype from being used for automated file-sharing.

I think the filesharing idea is not so bad. But skype provides such low datatransfer speed, so the application wouldnt accomplich itself inbetween all p2p architectures.

Spud5 is correct. The reason why there is no FT API other than notification messages of file transfer progress is security. However, it is perfectly possible to do file transfers in your own application via app2app API.
