We are currently trying to set up a conference call infrastructure using SkypeIn. I've managed to be able to transfer a max of two calls from a skype-in call to a conference, but as soon as the third call comes in, the "Add to conference" menu item is disabled. Has anyone successfully been able to get more than two incomming calls into a conference?

Are you using the latest version of Skype?

I must admit, I have forgotten to specify this information. We are using 3.6.32.244. At the time of writing the Skype application didn't find any updates.

Latest Skype version is 3.8.0.115 from
here.
Install it, test again and report back.

Sorry for all the fuss. With the version 3.8.0.115 it works perfectly. Don't know why my I (and the skype app) missed that big leap in version number.

Hello,
My company would like to set up conference calls with Skype whereby everyone calls one Skype number. Is this possible through Skype or does it require 3rd party software? I just tested this and found that if I have already answered one person's call, the next person goes directly to my voicemail or if that's disabled, then it opens in its own tab and I cannot combine the calls into one. I have not been able to find any directions on Skype's website, only this thread.
Thanks,
Peggy

Hi PeggyT,
After a could of tries (and having the latest version of skype - thanks Dimitris) I managed to conference in a couple of lines with the following drawbacks:
* You cannot conference supressed numbers into a conference call. No idea why - this seems like a bug
* If a new call comes in and you want to conference him/her in, the other people that were in the conference are muted.
* In usual conference calls, when a new party enters the conference a beeping-sound announces a new participant. This is not the case for a skype conf call
* A really nice, nice, nice feature would be that you would have the posibility to add an incomming call directly to a existing conference call. This would make handling of conf calls a whole lot easier.
Hope this gives you a bit of insights on my tests.
Cheers

I have found this Skype service and it seems to work well with Skype:
http://www.hidefconferencing.com/There is a reasonable charge for it (starting at $25/month) and then you get a skype number everyone can call, as well as a regular phone number people can call.
