We use GotVmail at our company, which is a virtual PBX system that allows us to take calls and forward them according to extensions, etc. We forward some of our extensions to our own SkypeIn numbers, but when a call is transferred, the CallerID displayed is always listed as "unknown". I can forward to regular land lines, cell phones, and even Vonage numbers and get the right CallerID to display properly. GotVmail says that Skype is doing something to prevent this from working, and I have to believe them from my own tests.

The big reason behind this need is that we have a CTI adapater for Salesforce.com, which connects to Skype. When a call is forwarded from GotVmail to Skype, this adapter can read the CallerID and pull up the contact record for who is calling us right away through a screen pop. Without the CallerID translation, this is useless.

Skype support said they know about this issue, but I was wondering if anybody knew of an ETA for a fix?

A few revisions have past since my last post and Caller ID is still messed up for SkypeIN service. Not quite sure why they can't fix this, as GotVmail and other services forward Caller ID successfully to other services...even Vonage. I would be perfectly content with just the number showing up, but to get "unknown" every time this occurs is not good. It's a shame because I like Skype, but will have to shop around for another VOIP provider if this doesn't get corrected.
