Hi,

I have mandrake linux kernel version 2.4.22-10mdk. When I type rpm -U etc. etc. I get the message, "Failed dependencies Libqt3 >= 3.2 is needed by skype-0.92.0.12-mdk". I loked for Libqt3 on the net, but their are quite a few, and I am inexperienced enough to not know which one to go for! (yes, yes, the one above or equal to 3.2). Can anyone advise, or point me towards the right version?

Many thanks,

Bengaul.

I guess you could look for the most recent one (3.3), just make sure they are compiled for your version of Mandrake! The version of your kernel is not important :-)

Search for "qt" in urpmi. If I remember correctly, Mandrake have a graphical installation of packages where you can search for packages.

HI Bengaull!

If you're using Mandrake with kernel 2.4.22-10mdk, this probably means you're using an older version of Mandrake: 9.2 to be exact.

Mandrake 9.2 comes with KDE 3.1, which runs QT 3.1, therefor it will not run the version of Skype you are trying to install, since it requires QT 3.2 and above.

From the Skype for Linux download page, download the version "RPM for systems with Qt 3.1", and you should be up and at 'em in no time!
