Full Version: My Skype vouchers.

I have been given a number of Skype vouchers, when I enter the codes in to skype.com/voucher I'm told the vouchers have expired. The vouchers say they exipre on June 30th.

What's going on?

My advice would be to submit a support request here.

other than the obvious response of 'what year?', I'm not sure

I understood that vouchers were good for at least a year, but iirc, it could be as long as 2 years

it would be best to submit a support ticket with details

Well I certainly hope you get MORE luck with your ticket than I have. sadsmile.png
It appears mine has just been ignored.

I bought 26 headsets to give away to friends 7 family + a few to keep ourselves. crying.png Each had 30mins free - vouchers expired 30th June 2008.

Despite sending photos of the 2 headsets opened with their vouchers & the other headsets - NOTHING! So much for the 24hr-49hr response - it was the12th I sent the ticket in. repeated request a couple of days later.

Would anyone like to take up my ticket? tracking number! ------

As you are aware I immediately sent you an email. Since then I received a day later YET ANOTHER email from Katri - quoting EXACTLY what I sent you including ref. no & the fact I had ALREADY sent off photos

However she then reiterates the following - TALK ABOUT DOING NOTHING! - I resent the photos on 18th - again NOTHING!

If possible please provide us with some visual record of this voucher.

For example, you could take a photograph of the voucher using a digital camera or better still you could use a scanner to take an image of the voucher.

When you have the image then send us the .jpg file.

This will help us to resolve your query

Here are the Photos that Skype appears to not want to reply to. You can CLEARLY see that they state end of june 2008 expirty date. Here are also some of the unopened ones - i've already given 4 away.
We are going abroad next week & wanted this sorted BEFORE then so we can give these to friends & family & set them up. Can ANYONE help???

Pictures copied and then deleted by Admin to avoid fraud.

Hmmmmm - it's a start at least BUT I certainly don't want to have to do this for EVERY voucher!!
What a way to do business!!!!

I have received from Katri just 2 vouchers for .51Euros - which presumably is for the 2 vouchers that i have taken out of the packages. Do I have to go through this VERY LONG method for EVERY headset that I open??
Do skype actually want more customers??? wondering.png I'm certainly NOT amused, neither am I impressed by Skype customer service!!! or should that be dis-service?

I'm VERY annoyed, totally disillusioned & I certainly CANNOT recommend any friends going on Skype. Will Skype please tell me what I should do with all the unopened IN DATE cards??? Your response so far has been VERY UNHELPFUL - to the point of almost rudeness & extremely inefficient - so I'm not expecting much! I am NOT going through this again!

We do not know until you open them of course.

Best way is probably to open them all and forward all voucher numbers at once. This is saving you a lot of hassle.

IF I MUST!
It's NOT very good to give someone a gift that is ALREADY opened. What is the problem with these? Why is Skype not honouring their vouchers on the market??.
I am EXTREMELY unhappy that items I bought as gifts I now have to open & put the free minutes onto my account - hence I will have nothing to place on their accounts - UNLESS presumably I take a long list of numbers with me. It's a MAJOR inconvenience as I had just expected to buy the sets, install on their computers & been ready to go - OR allow them to install themselves.
I am trying to get packed to go to US & I have this Major inconvenience. I also have to find tape to try to seal the packages back up to give as gifts.

Service - NO Disservice - definitely! I am VERY Annoyed!

I think Skype are WELL AWARE that NONE of their vouchers work!!!!

After opening EVERY package it would only let me input the 1st 5 - all are IN DATE!!!!! but Skype says they have expired - BULL.....!!!!! angry.png I have to wait 30mins to input another 5 presumably - Do skype think I have nowt else to do???? angry.png lipssealed.png devil.png angry.png

I am VERY ANGRY - These were bought as presents - now I have 20+ opened packages - GREAT - NOT!!!!

Ike - I have sent you ANOTHER 2 photos of 21 vouchers with individual codes.

I have also managed to get in touch with the 2 sets of friends I gave 4 headsets to - they gave up in disgust after getting in touch with Skype when their vouchers wouldn't work. Needless to say they had no reply that came anywhere near the problem OR offered any solution. I suspect MOST people give up!

This is TOTALLY WRONG - what is advertised on the packet is NOT given - It's totally against Trading rules. Then again apparently Skype is now owned by the same people who own Ebay & Paypal - who think they're above any consumer regulation!

Far from SAVING ME A LOT OF HASSLE as you state. It has CAUSED me a great deal of hassle!! angry.png
I now have presents to give people that are OPENED! I AM NOT AMUSED! no.png

My husband is seriously NOT amused angry.png and he is extremely annoyed that I opened the packages as he would prefer it if Skype bought the packages back from me. I can no longer return them to the shops even if we had the time to do this - which we don't!) & it looks AWFUL to give people already opened gifts.

These are Skype sets & they state quite clearly on the packaging that they contain 30 mins free airtime - which clearly IS NOT the case! You are breaking Trading laws through sheer incompetance. They are clearly NOT fit for the purpose they intended & it is FALSE ADVERTISING on the Skype packet containing the headsets.

I would prefer it if Skype refunds me for all headsets & I will return the FAULTY packages to you at your expense. This has cost me TIME - of which i am short before we go abroad. Money - as I now have 20+ unsuitable gifts (what the devil would I want all these opened headsets for?) + tremendous hassle.
Skype should reimburse me for ALL this.

Can you persuade me WHY I should stick with Skype???

I am VERY unhappy. I took the numbers you gave me to US to replace the
numbers that SHOULD have been valid until end June. NONE of the numbers you
sent me worked!!!! NONE OF THEM!

As I paid £26 for these worthless Skype headsets - I was far too embarrassed
after trying ALL the numbers out when I gave to 1st friend to even attempt
to give them to anyone else.

I've just tried to put them onto MY account - NO SUCCESS! We spend a lot of
time abroad & are off to Turkey on Wednesday for 1-2 months.

WHAT exactly do you intend to do about this MAJOR fiasco??????

I just wish I had time before we fly to contact Trading Standards - as this
is a MAJOR mis-selling by Skype.

I'm TOTALLY & utterly disgusted by your complete lack of service & your
total inability to rectify the problem.

I have sent this also to Katri BUT as she doesn't seem to bother to read emails properly I'm not sure if anything will get done.

I will not have proper access to PC until July at earliest now. Obviously I won't be able to use Skype either - you've had enough of my money already without me wanting to give you more.

Like I explained in reply to your PM to me, Katri sent you the vouchers on March 23. They were valid until the end of April.

The first time you bought the headsets from someone else and did not want to give (or were not able to give) me the name and address of the company. Without your cooperation we can not check wether it was a legal or illegal reseller. So please do not blame Skype for it.

At NO TIME was I told that the vouchers expired end of April.
The original vouchers were valid until end of June 2008!!!

Provide PROOF that you told me these would expire end of April - you can't! - they WOULDN'T work DURING APRIL!

I TRIED using the vouchers in US BEFORE the end of April so the information you have posted above is COMPLETELY WRONG!

Yet again - we go away, completely seething at this companys underhandedness & TOTAL incompetance.

WHY, oh WHY couldn't you have credited my account with the FULL cost of these items? NORMAL companies that make a balls up on this scale normally do!

I DO NOT keep ALL reciepts for everything I buy - does anyone? I assumed (wrongly) that the items would do what they said on the package. They were Skype packages - so skype should honour them!!!

Now I KNOW why Skypes' Logo is "Take a deep breath" - you need to, to deal with sheer incompetance!

Indeed I can not nor is there proof that they were valid till the end of June. One mistake from my side was not to ask how long these vouchers were valid for which I appologise.

I contacted Support again.

Although I understand your frustrations I am not deaf nor deserve I to be shouted at. We tried to help you which unfortunately worked out the wrong way but being impolite by shouting is not going to help either.

Please check your e-mails. Skype sent you new vouchers and informed you about the expire date. The vouchers are valid until the end of September 2008.

Here and here you find instructions on how to redeem vouchers.

If you haven't received an e-mail from Skype, please check your SPAM settings and the SPAM folder at the server.
