Hi folks,

I've read through the introduction posts on translations but there's one thing I still don't get and I don't wnat to get it wrong and accidentally edit someone elses file. it says to

in Skype main window toolbar Tools-> Change Language->select the particular language needed, hen again Tools->Change Language->Edit Skype Language File

But what do I do if the language that I want to translate GĂ idhlig (Scots Gaelic) is not in the list already? Do I then simply go to Edit Skype Language File and then Save As (under a new name presumably) or do I need to get the language added to the list first?

Thanks!

Hello.

You need to do following (as on the attached pictures):

First go to Tools\Change language\Edit Skype Language File
(picture Edit skype language file.jpg)
Then you will get window on picture UI Text editor.jpg. There you need to translate everything in column name Current (all 3175 lines giggle.png )
When you get tired you should save your work by clicking on Save As button and give file name as you wish (.lang extension). You should save it in \Program files\Skype\Phone directory.

Then you click on Apply button and things you already translated will be visible.

Your translation file name will not show on list because only Skype programmers add language names in that list (I asked them). So if you want to use your own translation, all you need is to make one and load it.

Every time you log in with your Skype name your lang file will be loaded. If not, for some reason, you should go to Tools\Change language\Load Skype Language File and load your own lang file.

That's all.

Have nice translation.
