Well, I really don't know what to buy!!!!

I thought I'd be able to use Skype with my MacBook in Europe while driving and using my Verizon wireless USB727 modem...Naaaa! No Verizon.

So, the next step is to decide what phone to buy. WIFI might be spotty where I'm going, so I looked for a USB phone that would have my Skype account embedded. I just want to walk up to a PC and plug in, get access to Skype through that PC's wired internet connection, and talk to my wife at home. Asking too much?

If so, does anybody have experience with the second alternative? That is, calling home with a WIFI phone while traveling? One that works well on a hotel WIFI?

If there is WIFI in, say, a hotel in Europe that requires logging on through a browser, and it requires a password (sometimes the room number), then what phone would work?

I'm only moderately confused. But I'm great at taking direction. Anyone have any directions?

If no phone really works yet, then I don't want the extra weight on the trip.

I think the best way for you is to get use your Macbook at any hotel that has a wired or wifi connection.

just use Skype the same way as with Verizon, but using the hotel network.

I'm traveling all the time between Europe and USA and I always use my PC. I also have Skype on my Samsung Blackjack but the processor speed is not enough for VoIP.

my daughter is in belgium. does skype work there? she's been told it doesn't.

Everywhere in the world, from the North Pole to the Sahara, wherever you are connected to the internet with Skype downloaded on your PC, LapTop, Mobile device, Skype is working.

So, if I have skype on my US iphoneand I logon in Europe via wifi, I can call all my friends in europe and america ? True ? What plan and is there a voicemail ?
