My new Linksys CIT300 came with a voucher giving me 60 minutes free SkypeOut and one month free voicemail. I tried to redeem the voucher and subsequently got an error message stating that the voucher number has expired. This cannot be. I have submitted a "ticket" to support and recieved zero response. How can this issue be rectified? angry.png

Because the majority of requests require research to resolve, it can sometimes take us up to 48 hours to respond, though we make every effort to get back to you as quickly as possible and most queries are answered within 24 hours. That is a quote from Skype custromer service today to me.

4 business days comes from actual everyday experience and it's not an official Skype statement.

Thank you for letting me know. Now I know that Skype is less than honest. I suspect as a new user that they tell the sustomer anything that they want to hear. Think I will go and find another provider who is honest and more professional. I actually found a telephone service supplier who gives me calls to Austria Mobiles cheaper than Skype.

I've went ahead and bought some SkypeOut Credit and overall I'm happy enough with the quality and operations of the application with the CIT300 but.. from looking at the forums all over the 'net the Skype gift voucher scheme seems to be in utter shambles. For such a popular VoIP service, this is a disgrace. Plus I still have had zero response from my ticket submitted last Tuesday. I'm not that bothered abt the free 60 minutes and free voicemail with the voucher to be honest, it was moreso on the principle of the matter. Thanks for the reponses though.

Vouchers always work great for me.

If I understood correctly, your issue is that you can't redeem your vouchers.

I assume you have tried here.

What is your username and exact date you filed your support ticket?

Same problem here....received a expired voucher when I bought a phone(SMC,,which I see they don't offer any more,,days of trouble and alot of work to connect) I also can't get the voucher resolved,,,,1 week into it.Don't see much interest on Skypes response.

Have you submitted a support request here?

If so, please keep in mind that it takes a minimum of 4 business days to get a reply from Skype Support. If you don't get one by then, post again here, stating your username and date you filed the support ticket.

Hi Dimitiris,

My skype username is stephen.craig1976 and the ticket was submitted on Tuesday 5th Feb. I got some unclear message stating that the ticket was not submitted the first time because my query was answered in the FAQ section.. err, obviously not or the voucher would have been redeemed and credit given wasntme.png
I was then forwarded to the voucher redeeming page (where this issue initially began). As I said though, it's really not a big issue anymore as long as I know the SkypeOut Credit I purchase works fine, which it seems to.
Dimitris Apostolou
It seems that you have NOT submitted any tickets yet.

When you submit your ticket and being redirected to the FAQ section, scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "Submit" again. Only then the ticket is actually sent and you should receive an automatic conformation e-mail.

Today bought a Skype Dualphone 3058. In the box was a voucher that expired Dec 31, 2007. The voucher number is xxxxxx

It is an unpleasant to receive an expired voucher that I cannot use. Please send me another voucher code--that is not expired!

I already sent a ticket to customer service.

I already tried https://secure.skype.com/store/voucher/redeem.html, just in case. But it didn't work.

Well it is 4 days plus since I wrote to "customer services" and despite the fact that they told me it would be max 48 hours that i would get a reply, guess what as expected, no reply and most likely I will not get one. I don't care about a lousy 30 free minutes but it is the principle. If a business is prepared to be dishonest witth me to take my custom then it does nopt deserve my business. I will not spend as much as 1 cent with Skype until my voucher is redeemed and even then I am not sure as I am shocked at the level of customer dissatisfaction expressed on this forum.

qualityservicecentre and sent a request to "customer service" at 02:30 hrs 7 Feb 2008. Got a response on Feb 7 at 14:00 hrs stating that normally most quesries are dealt with in 24 hours but 48 hours in difficult cases. Now by my reckoning it is 130 hours sine they replied and 142 hours since I submitted my claim that they had given me a voucher that was already expired. Bet you that I will never get a reply.

This was my reply from Skype Support:

"Thank you for contacting Skype Support.

On each voucher there is a date up to which the voucher is valid.

If you don't redeem the voucher before that date, it will unfortunately expire.

However, if you received the voucher later than the expiry date on the voucher, please contact the merchant you got this voucher from regarding that matter.

We apologise for the inconvenience

Linksys was my first port of call before contacting Skype, who told me this was not their dept, it was to do with Skype. To be perfectly honest I am pissed off being given the runaround and the buck being passed from one to the other. Quite frankly, I dont give a rats ass abt the free minutes (that were expired before I bought the product), so all we're left with is useless support and customer care from the above mentioned companies.

This is what i received from Skype. My voucher does not expire until June 2008. I submitted the voucher number to Skype and now they say it has expired. As I see it all vouchers are "expired" and are not valid. I think it is a scam to encourage people to sign up and they know that most people will give up trying to activate worthless vouchers.
In their reply they state nonsense that is insulting to my intelligence, I do understand what expiry dates mean, but Skype does not, so who is the dummy? I dont care about a miserly 30 minutes but I am concerned about what maybe false and misleading advertising. I will check with gthe retailer and enquire if there are more complaints, which I suspect there are.
He is my reply from Skype, look familiar?
