Hi,
We just got new PC, Hp, Windows XP pro, Service pack 2. Downloaded Skype from version 3,6. It seemed everything OK, until I tried to sign in. Then my PC without any warning turned off.
After few times of trying, I couldn't restart PC at all. We called engineers and he found no reason for it. Tested PC for spy ware, viruses and found nothing.

Did the PC turn off or it crashed with blue screen?

Can you update your sound and video cards drivers and update direct x as first thing and then report back.
