I know this may be pushing things, but has anyone tried to run Skype Beta 2.0 for Linux on the Asus Eee on the built in Camera. I am new to Linux and dont want to risk any problems that I may not be able to undo by trying. Thanks to anyone with more experience.

You may find plenty of links in the Skype forum (using the searching option menu), which is always a good habit when looking for info. In alternative:

Moderators: Can this be made sticky? Lots of people don't really take advantage of the search function in the forum, and they keep posting the same question all over again...

This is now simplicity itself, because Asus has released a skype update for the video version
Settings> Add Remove software.

From what I saw Berkus saying about it in the Asus Eeepc forum, I am pretty sure that this also includes the special script for turning the camera on and off.

Excellent and another reason for buying one of these brilliant little devices!

Additionally the Skype for Linux (Asus EEE) version incorporates some fixes to better display Skype's dialogs and windows on EEE's small screen. So it's recommended to sue the builtin software update to get that exact version.
