Hi,

does anybody know how to install SKYPE FOR PPC on my QTEK S-100?

Have downloaded "Skype for Windows Mobile" and "Skype for your Smartphone. Afterwards I ran both applications, but getting always errors.

From one side, while installing "Skype for Windows Mobile" an error appeared on my PC: "El Administrador de aplicaciones no pudo instalar esta aplicación en el dispositivo móvil. Archivo de instalación no válido. Vuelva a instalar la aplicación." What means in english, someting like: THE APPLICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR COULD NOT INSTALL THIS APPLICATION ON THE MOBILE DEVICE. INSTALLATION FILE NOT VALID. REINSTALL THE APPLICATION."

While installing "Skype for your Smartphone" I got the following error message on my PPC: "El archivo "\Windows\AppMgr\Install\Skype Software SARL Skype for Smartphone.CAB" no es un archivo válido del programa de instalación de Windows CE.” What means in english, something like: "THE FILE (...) IS NOT A VALIDA FILE OF THE INSTALLATION PROGRAM OF WINDOWS CE."

The Support of Skype gave me the indications to remove SKYPE from my PC, afterward to run my antivirus and to download afterwards the applications. No success.

Is there maybe another solution? Would an earlier version maybe help me out?

Thank you!

Claudius

You can only use the Skype for Windows Mobile version.

If you have a Windows PC, make sure that you have at least ActiveSync 4.5 installed, download the .exe installation file for Windows Mobile again, and run the installation file from you PC.

You can alternatively download the .CAB installation file, download it to your device and run it from there.

Ok, I will update my ActiveSync (had v 3.7). If this doesn't work, I will try to install it using that CAB file. Could you be so kind as to provide me a step-by-step information of how to do that?

Thank you!

Yesss! I updated ActiveSync to version 4.5 and the installation of Skype for Windows Mobile on my Qtek S100 ran just perfectly. No problems at all!

Thank you once more!
