Full Version: Using simultaneous Ring with SkypeIN

Have some questions:

1) My VOIP company offers Simultaneous Ring (rings several phones/numbers at the same time). I'd like my SkypeIN to be included with Simultaneous Ring along with cellphone, etc., however, I want the voicemail from my VOIP company to pickup if I don't answer - not my skype VM. How can I be sure my SkypeIN voicemail won't answer if I'm NOT online during Simultaneous Ring?

2.) During Simultaneous Ring, what caller ID will show up on my skype phone (my VOIP phone # or original caller's phone #)?

3) If I have either PrettyMay or Pamela and answer the (Simultaneous Ring) call with my Skype phone, will the conversation be recorded (if I choose that option)?

4) Is my computer the only way I can access my Skype Voicemail messages?

Thanx

1. You can't disable Skype voicemail if you are not logged in, calls will go to voicemail even with call forwarding if the call is not answered.

2. You will need to check this I am not sure what you are calling "Simultaneous Ring" Grand Central?

3. No, the first one to answer the call gets the call, you can't have mutiple devices or Skype clients answer the same call even with being logged in with the same Skype name.

4. MyToGo is a program I wrote which is FREE and allows you to check your Skype Voice Mail remotely from your other phones and devices, more here:

"Simultaneous Ring" is where all assigned phones (landline, cell, skype) ring at once. You can take the call from anyone of those phones. GrandCentral.com - gives you a phone number, through a control panel you choose which phones will ring depending on the contact. If you don't pickup, the Grand Central voice mail picks up.

Sorry to revive a dead thread but I have a similar but different question.

Is there any way I can get my SkypeIN calls (or any calls for that matter) to ring both my Skype account and any forwarded numbers simultaneously?

So for example, if I receive a call, my computer, home, office, mobile phones all ring at the same time. Currently my computer will ring for a set # of seconds before forwarding it to one more or more numbers.

I've been trying to think of a few workarounds, such as setting up the following forwarding scheme:

1) another skype name
2) home
3) office
4) mobile

But this doesn't work for me either. I actually have a Philips VOIP841 phone for my parents to easily call Australia w/o country prefixes or calling cards or whatever. Which is why this phone is always logged into my account, all the time. The problem is when nobody is home, this phone will ring for 15 seconds before it forwards to my mobile phone, at which point, most people would assume no one is there and hang up.

To my knowledge I can't do anything like have Skype ignore the VOIP841's login when he is in _________ state (haven't tested this yet though).

Thanks in advanced!

P.S. I also have Google Voice, in case some fancy workaround including that in the loop.

With PrettyMay Skype PBX for Windows, you can have simultaneous ring on ONE SkypeIn number, and calls can distributed to different Skype users..

...i don't get it.

I want my single skype account to ring any logged in endpoints (of that account) as well as several PTSN numbers.
