I run Skype static 2.0.0.27 (static because Slackware doesn't use qt 4 and I'm too lazy to build my own
qt). I don't understand all the items in the status box:
1) 'CPU Usage' has two numbers, the first always 100.0%, the second a number in the high 90s. I have
a 1.13 GHz Pentium 3 with 512 MB RAM. What do these numbers mean?
2) The packet loss fields have two numbers. Sometimes the second is over 100%. Yet I still have a
good connection. What do these numbers mean?
3) What means 'hicc'? Is that short for hiccups?
4) What is jitter?
5) What is 'BM'?
6) Why doesn't Skype document this somewhere?

The technical call info is mostly an internal debugging feature. It's visible in the client so users can easily tell some numbers back to support if need be. This question can probably be asked in a general Skype forum for more analysis of the data (as it is the same across all platforms).

Why not let the general user know? I'm a programmer. I successfully alleviated a problem an
older machine (and its not-so-good audio chip) had with Skype by lowering the maximum sample rate
the sound-chip driver would report. If I know what these numbers mean possibly I could address the
problem myself.

Can you suggest one? I asked in a more-general forum and received no reply. I hoped for
a more techie audience here, and a bit of help for a beta-user.
