I beleive someone stole my password through a stupid webcam trick, which i didnt relize what was going on till after i did it. It is called XXXXXX. I beleive it was changed by those asshxxxs, because I cant log in and i ended up making a new account which i realy dont want. Is there anyway of gettin my account back?

I have experienced something similar to what is described above. On October 21st, I woke up to find a note that my password had been changed and I couldn't log into my skype account. I tried to have my password send to my email account, but my email account had been changed as well. I submitted a support request on October 21, 2008, and requested help again two weeks later. Still have not heard ANYTHING from Skype. I had approximately 23 Euro on the account and even more distressing is I have lost all of my contacts. I am very disappointed that Skype has not gotten back to me at all. Can anyone help?

I must be in the same situation of a stolen skype account, unless the account name was reassigned after being automatically expired). It has been a while since I ran Skype (like 2-3 years, maybe more). It was on another PC. I am pretty sure what my email was because I used an email alias set up just for skype (still active). Now I have recreated an account, just so that I can post here my request for assistance, but I could keep this new account if it is legitimately taken by someone else now. I am pretty sure what my username was because it was quite simple. I just need to retrieve my contact list, I am not too attached to the account name itself (in case it has automatically been de-activated or something, and then perhaps reassigned, in which case, can I still retrieve older contact data, from before it was automatically terminated?)

I'"m having the same problem. But someone also changed my email adres, so i can't retrieve a new pasword. And I also got 2 e-mails from skype to my hotmail account, the account i've used to set up skype with my original skype name. The emails are about money:

But i don't have anything to do with this person or money?
Can anyone help me with this one? I use the name chonazz for about 10 years now, and I use it for skype ever since skype for mac exits sow...

It seems like this is beginning to be a common occurance. The same thing has happened to me. In fact I had use of it yesterday but not today. and my email has been changed.

I have the same issue :
- someone hack & change ma password
- I have seen email "Control Panel Credit in value of 250 EUR"
- I send request to Skype Support - auto-reply is only reply I got.

How I can :
- got back my account
- check in my trasnaction history if no-one charge me creadit card ???

Any help will be welcome.

Can you please send me a PM. My account has been hijacked as well. Skype is a critical business application for me. I have been locked out for 72 hours and have not heard a word back from Skype support. I really need to get this resolved.

On Monday, I had been working in Skype all morning. All of a sudden, Skype logged me out and gave a message that said my password had been changed. I have gone through the change password process over a dozen times and can't get back into my account.

I have same problem. I received the file "video.pif" from my friend. after that time, my password and email address for security checking are changed. I can't log in. So I made new ID. My friend's password is also changed. I am really concerend about my account. How can I log in? Please let me log in skype.

I've just had my account stolen as well. I had about $15 in the account. I am unable to reset the password and get the account back. Please help.

BTW, I think that this may be a bigger scam than people realize. Since there is an instant payment button that transfers money from your paypal account (IIRC) then there may be a way of bleeding your paypal account dry.

I would like to know more if this is the case.

Skype staff, please check this out as it might be potentially a very large fraud operation about to happen.

Hi.
Looks like Skype is fast when You pay them (they offer you fast autorecharge option).
But when users has problems - Skype is not helping You.

Someone was trying to stole me 250 Euro - and what is doing Skype - got auto email
"Because the majority of requests require research to resolve, it can sometimes take us up to 48 hours to respond, though we make every effort to get back to you as quickly as possible and most queries are answered within 24 hours."

Then - after 48 hours - silent.

No news from "support@skype.com". I still don't know if someone charge my Visa Card, I can't remove my Visa card data from Skype.
I don't know if anyone is working on my issue, I don't if this is one exempt or it is some general issue.
I don't know if I can get back my contacts ...

Is anyone from Skype reading this forums ???

It is so surprising to me that SKYPE does not take care of their customer base. The same problem happened to me, someone hacked my computer through SKYPE and stole my password and change it to something else, they also managed to change my email to something else. Therefore when I tried the FORGOT PASSWORD the system obviously said that the user and password did not match.

I have sent 3 Support tickets and it has been almost a week!!! so much for ther "24 - 48 hrs " response.

It is very frustrating!!! This happened because I have been purchasing SKYPE CREDITS and I am sure they are gone by now... Also, the hacker managed to recharge my SKYPE account using my PAYPAL account with more credits. By now, I am also going to cancel PAYPAL. Paypal will lose the business of processing my credit cards (Virtual Terminal Pro) and also all the monthly fees About 35 USD + all the discount fees they collect from my transactions.

Also, at this point SKYPE is losing money because I was a bussiness user and have probably spent between 800 and 1000 USD since I started using my SKYPE ACCOUNT.

I only wish that SKYPE would really take their business seriously, as I really doubt it they will continue to grow with such a horrible customer service.

I even saw that they will now advertising along the iPhone (apple) and that is ashame! I will probably post a video on YOUTUBE and any other social network available to warn people not to ever use SKYPE ... UNLESS I HEAR FROM THEM IN THE NEXT DAY OR SO, I WILL START MY ADVERTISING CAMPAING telling my story to anybody that is willing to hear it. I think everyone should do this, to push SKYPE to start really working on their customer service skills.

I too have had this happen to me. I have now PM two moderators. Written three support requests. Emailed an address CSL2@SKYPE.NET. And still no response from any of them. I too use my Skype for both business and personal calls. When is this going to get fixed? This is obviously a problem if someone people are getting hijacked! Please fix this SKYPE!!!!

Oh and for the record, this is not a computer user issue! I do tech work for a living so I know that my computer is secure. This is definitely a problem with Skype.
