Does anybody else have the Philips SPC 1000NC webcam and able to use it?

I have plugged it in and although recognized with a modprobe it does not work in any programs. I have googled around for info on it but everything seems to point to the discontinued pwc driver which last supports an older version of Philips webcams, I think the 950NC.

Any help here would be appreciated.

I don't think there is any Linux support for the SPC 1000NC currently.

Andrew, just a quick note to let you know that the UVC driver works for this camera. I have video at last. bigsmile.png

Great news smile.png Make sure you're running the latest uvc for the next release (at least r166 from svn) as we'll be removing a workaround for a uvc issue in the past that has been worked around in the uvc driver smile.png

Yes this cam works great with the UVC driver. Unfortunately, this cam produces only MJPEG which is useless for the current Skype version.
Is there a work around?
Is the MJPEG support planned soon?
Andypoo
Unfortunately no sadsmile.png There are no plans to support MJPEG streams at this time. Your best bet would be through userspace processing with the gstfakevideo plugin.
