Dear Vietnamese friends and Skype staff,
For rewarding the PC to PC free feature of Skype. I'd like to contribute my translation work in Vietnamese to Skype and Skype community. The Vietnamese translated version is not perfect but it does look quite neat in Skype UI, and some technical terms are explicitly explained to make the meaning clearer for vietnamese users to understand. As my understanding that many vietnamese users do not desire to use any software which has Vietnamese UI. Neither did I, at the first galance at vietnamese Skype UI. But when you spend more time fiddling with it, you would be more than happy to turn the UI into your native language, for sure, I said.
The translated laguage file has been named in the way as Skype staff has recommended, and the download link can be found at the bottom of this post.
Download the translated file and copy it to the "Phone" diretory under the one where Skype was installed on your Windows system. It would be "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone" if you did not change the default installed directory of Skype. Why you should do this, because every time you load your language file, Skype always looks into Phone directory first. By doing this, you will save your time looking for your language file location. When you have copied your language file into mentioned directory, open Skype and go to its main window toolbar then find Tools => Change Laguage => select Load Skype Language file...A new window will be opened and the vietnamese translated file is available there under the Phone diretory. The thing you need to do now is give it a double click, wait a few seconds then Skype UI will be turned into Vietnamese.
I will keep an eye on every new released version of Skype, or if I do not have time to check Skype update time to time, it would be helpful if you spend few moment to inform me via h2vnteam at gmail. I have tried my best to check the spelling and tranfer the best meaning for techinical terms. If you see any misspelling or any word that does not make sense, please correct it and post your edited file on Skype forums for Vietnamese users to keep it up to dated. Feedback and comments are always welcome.
Hopefully, in one day the translation work will be considered by Skype staff to put it into one of the main laguages of Skype. And you do not have to switch Skype into vietnamese for every time you start Skype any more.

Tôi vừa dịch xong giao diện Skype sang tiếng Việt. Link download ở phía dưới bài viết này.
Để chuyển Skype sang tiếng Việt bạn làm như sau:
1. Copy file lang mà bạn vừa tải xuống bỏ vào thư mục "Phone" nằm trong thư mục "Skype" thông thường thư mục này sẽ nằm trên ổ C (C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone) trên các máy dùng windows.
2. Mở Skype tìm đến menu Tools=> Change Languge=> rồi nhấp vào Load Skype Languge file... một cửa sổ mới sẽ hiện ra, trong cửa sổ này bạn sẽ thấy file lang tiếng Việt mà bạn vừa copy vào đã nằm ở đây. Chọn file rồi nhấp Open hoặc nhấp đúp lên file này là xong.
Điều bất tiện là bạn phải mở file tiếng Việt cho mỗi lần bạn khởi động Skype. Hy vọng rằng Skype sẽ đưa tiếng Việt vào các file ngôn ngữ chính.
Mặc dù đã cố gắng rất nhiều nhưng tôi vẫn chưa hài lòng với bản dịch này. Nếu bạn thấy chỗ nào đó bất ổn hoặc đọc có vẻ buồn cười, vui lòng giúp tôi sửa lại cho đúng, bạn cũng có thể tự sửa file lang bằng các editor hỗ trợ unicode như: Notepad++, gVim, EmEditor, gedit, kedit, Emacs... Tôi sẽ cố gắng cập nhật file này mỗi khi có bản Skype mới, tôi không hay dùng Skype lắm nên nếu bạn nào thấy có bản Skype mới ra lò, vui lòng báo cho tôi biết qua h2vnteam tại gmail.
