Hi everyone I was happy for the release of Skype Video. I understand the beta status. I just want to tackle some issues I experience. I cannot view 2 videos on my screen (me and the other user that I video chat with)

Here are summary what I experienced;
1. When I start video chat and my cam is automatically start I can see my self but the other I cannot
2. When I start video chat with manual start of my cam (first the other user will start their cam) and I can see them but my own cam cannot be viewed.
3. on minimize view the cam are dodge cannot view properly unless I full screen it.

Background:
I use Ubuntu Festy Fawn on IBM R40 with webcam Genius 'VideoCAM GF112' and XGL or compiz are turned off so plain window only.

Hope this can be included on Skype Linux Video update.

Regards,

Kutch

It sounds like you don't have 2 Xv ports available. You can double-check by running xvinfo |less from the command-line.

This won't be fixed for the next update I'm afraid.

Andy.

ops! I just noticed in my posting Yes I only got 1

#number of ports: 1

How to add additional port on it?

Thanks,

kutch
Andypoo
Unfortunately, it is a hardware limitation.

We will add other video overlay methods in the future.

Andrew.
kutchaia
Ah ok.

Please let me know for the update of that overlay method to my mail

I'm eager to do the test again with skype as I only use Linux and I want to see the smooth way like windows works.

Also can you post somewhere in the forum the list of compatible hardware (video card) to do this work?
StevensOnln1
Most nvidia video cards seem to work well if you use the proprietary nvidia driver.
