I've just priced out the VoSKY Eschange server both the 9040 and 9080. They are coming in at a price of 1500 and 2000 respectively plus, installation. Is there any other options out there to keep the current phone system and hook up skype through our current phone lines.

Thanks for your help.

There are plenty of other solutions. ZiPCOM, for example, offers SkyPBX series with more advanced features and a complete product line. SkyPBX is field-proven as many reputable conpanies such as UMC, Tatung, NEC, and Formosa Plastics, etc., have put SkyPBX online usage for longer than a year now. SkyPBX offers several unique features:
- Corporate Skype Hunting group, stackable for unlimited simultaneous Skype incoming calls;
- Rack-mounted with Integrated industrial PC
- Skype DTMF relay for un-mistakable outgoing SkypeOut dialing into PBX for extension calls;
- ...

Be sure to check it out yourself.

Dear mat2222

When looking to use skype via the telephone system you will need to look at a Gateway option, such as the replies you have seen already.

However if the initial outlay for these solutions is not a viable option i would look at how best to utilise skype in your business.

I would be hesitant in choosing a route / product without a true understanding of your current set up and your objectives moving forward.

How many employees are making Skype calls, to which numbers (local, international, mobile), how many calls per day and how long is the average call time? Is it completely outbound calls or are you taking inbound calls?

What is the primary reason for Skype - giving customers the ability to call you for free, being able to reduce calls costs to international customers, enabling office to office calls for free, free video conferencing, centrally managing all of your skype accounts etc?

If you are able to provide some details we can endeavour to offer a more refined response.

Kind Regards
