Hi All,

Is it possible to make Skype do not stop reconnecting when it gets offline due to broken 3g or wifi connection?
No error messages, no questions and/or warnings about "you can get charged for traffic", etc. Just retry to establish Internet connection and get online.

I often see something like "skype was unable to connect..." after driving through a tunnel and this is not good. I want to be always online.

Thanks.

I completely agree!

Here it's much worst (Samsung Omnia i900). Instead of Skype complain about a failure in the connection, it crashes. sadsmile.png Very annoying:

there is always some traffic when you are online (not just when connecting), regardless of whether you are using Skype or not, so if you are worried about that, then you should toggle your online status to Offline when not using Skype (or sign out or quit)

I'm afraid you did not undertand. We want Skype to stay connected all the time.

the fact that you lose your 3G connection periodically is not a Skype issue -- it is impossible for Skype to remain connected when this occurs

the original poster seemed concerned about charges incurred while connecting -- I was merely pointing out that there is traffic all the time, particularly if you have a decent Contact List, hence ongoing traffic charges to some degree, even while the user may not be actively using Skype

Skype will do it's best to stay connected while you are signed in

Neil,

Traffic or charges are not a problem. Problem is that I see question "would you like to connect to the Internet?" and Skype client is waiting for my "Yes".
I just want it to connect without any questions, and I want it to retry always. But after connection is lost it shows an error message and does not retry until I close the error message manually. This is the problem.
GSM network disappears for few minutes, but I got offline until I open the client and close its error box.

I don't think that question is being asked by Skype, is it?

Skype tries to connect to the Internet all the time and is waiting for permission/ability to do so

I don't think this is a Skype issue

Of course it is Skype issue.
The question IS asked by Skype, as the error message is shown by Skype.

FlexMail, for example, does not ask anything once it has been told stay in connect, it just opens connection if it is closed and brings me my emails.
