I'm trying to find out if Skype works on any of the Verizon Wireless phones, such as the HTC pro, Samsung Omnia, LG enV Touch, Blackberry, etc...I've read that Verizon doesn't support Skype and haven't found anyone who actually has used Skype successfully (and without problems) through a Verizon cell phone. I think Skype has worked on some of these phones in other countries, but not sure if it works on these phones in the U.S., using Verizon. If anyone has had success, please let me know.

The best advise i could give is if you buy a Verizon contract phone, it to then upgrade its software and put on a "universal" Operating System so that you have full functionality. But beware that the warranty will be voided from that point on. All the phone models that you specified have plenty of OS systems available on the WWW and its not really that difficult to upgrade if you spend some time reading the forums. Start with www.xda-developers.com and look for the brand of phone that you want to get from Verizon and go to the ROM section.

I have "successfully" installed Skype Windows Mobile on my Verizon Samsung Omnia, but when I try to sign in on WIFI or broad band, I get a message that my "user name is not recognised". I am using my PC Skype user name and password. Also, I cannot make a new user name. I get a message that the characters are incorrect. Anyone else have that problem?
