I had the same problems on my htc touch cruise, one thing to say, if you got the GPRS monitoring tool with your device : GET RID OF IT. It slowed down my connection for a month, and after i deleted it, my voip & skype apps worked like a charm on a 3g network.

Downloaded version 2.1.0.65 cab file and launched it on the device and it works like a champ. I've made multiple calls to the test line with could results and two calls to landlines in Italy with good results.

Hi, I have been trying refusly to get skype to work even half decently on my tytnII, so far I have tried all of the mentioned things pretty much:

Close all running programs
Disable the phone
Disable WiFi security (not always going to be an option)
Use headset

All of these makes the test woman talk more proper, but my voice stil isn't anywhere near good enough.
However, if an older version works, which makes sense, since skype has been around for ages, and the TYTN II is much faster than some of the older phones around at that time, then please, somebody send a link, perhaps Skype should post the link for those having problems?

Ok you guys are at least using skype. I'm using the TYTNII with WM 6.1 and i can not even open skype after i install it. "a problem has occured with skype" well duh lol. Error "could not start skype" double duh...

Has any of you guys/girs experienced this and how do you go around this one?

got same problem: "SkypeForPocketPC is not valid aplication for Pocket PC (for exe file).
When I downoloaded cab file, installation was successful, but when starting skype such a messahe appears: "Couldn't find all the neccessary files to start Skype. Please try to install Skype again."

I've tried 3 times....

I have all the same problem now. I had a faulty tytn 2 hand set which orange replaced. The previous handset was fine using skype . The windows version 6.1 , op version 24.181.1.612. Now I have a new hand set , an upgraded op version 24.328.1.610 and experiencing same problems. Installation OK but cannot execute SKYPE application. Where do we go from here?

Refefence to my last forum reply this is what i have just recieved from SKYPE support. Its not version 6 but the latest operation version of 24.328.1.610
I suspect. So I am afraid we have to wait for the new version to be released.

I have downloaded Skype for windows mobile on my HTC TYTN II, it installed fine with active sync, but when I try to start it up it gets stuck in the startupscreen.

Should I install the PPC version?

I think you're the one mixing words here.... I've tried Skype on Orange M600, M700 & TYTNii and the quality of the voice connection is pathetic... It continues to lag the longer it runs. I did get it to work on TYTNii with windows mobile 6 but it fails to work with windows mobile 6.1... COME ON SKYPE, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AS I'M GETTING FED UP WITH ALL THE EXCUSES!.... MY OTHER SKYPE PHONE IS A PHILIPS VOIP 841 AND IT WORKS GREAT... I WANT THE SAME FROM MY POCKET PC! GET MOVING....

Skype not working on Windows Mobile 6.1 was a known problem as of last week.

Do a search on this forum, the answer is there and this issue is resolved now. Specifically, see posts in this thread:

Look for all post activity between July 26, 2008 and July 29, 2008. There is a link there for working version of Skype for Windows Mobile 6.1.

I see on the forum that there are many problems in getting this working on the tytn. Any suggestions on:

This version still does not work with the HTC Mogul. I cannot hear the caller and they cannot hear me. I bought a year of Skype because I thought I could use it on my phone, but as it turns out I've been left in the dust for over 4 months.

Skype should just admit, YES there is a problem with sound with the HTC.

As stated in the release notes .45 only fixes the wm6.1 startup issue.
I have forwarded the audio issue that affects the htc mogul.
