Account Blocked

My account has been blocked and I'm not sure why. I've been using Skype for a few months with no problems and now I'm having some issues. After further investigation the word fraudulent was used with regard to my account. I have not used it in any way other than its intended use in accordance with the terms and conditions. I've logged a ticket and I hope this will be resolved soon.

I should mentioned that I purchased a year of unlimited calling within the U.S., a phone number and voicemail. I plan to purchase more services once this situation is resolved.

Are you getting an error message #?
Replies to tickets generally take 2-3 business days.
However, if you don't have a response after 4 business days we will liase with Skype.
To do this we need the date on which you filed your ticket and your username.

Thanks very much for your response. No error message, just a message that says Account Blocked.

I opened the ticket yesterday 8/6/07. Usename: dan.lucas1 Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

My account (skype name:h.tung) is blocked without any word. I know many others also faced the same and made quite a lot of claim but seem Skype haven't improved their service at all.

At lease when they block account they should send a message to explain reasons and tell user what they need to do to have the account re-activated.

It's unacceptable way of doing business. i am very disappointed

I received an email this morning from customer support. I had some check fraud on my bank account and consequently had the account closed. Because of this, some chargebacks weren't allowed and Skype felt my account might have been fraudulently opened. I've since forwarded all of the updated information thus proving that I did indeed open this account.

However, my account is STILL BLOCKED!! I responded to the email at about 9AM Pacific. My cell phone minutes are getting racked up!

9AM Pacific is evening in Europe. Please give Skype some time to verify the details for which they often need third Payment Parties and it is not very likely these are replying to e-mails over the weekend.

Please go here http://support.skype.com/?_a=tickets&_m=submit and submit a ticket with full details to Billing and Payment department, Skype needs the details to look into your problem. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click submit / send. Note that a reply can take a minimum of 2 working days, bloccked accounts occasionally a bit longer.

If you already sent a ticket more then 4 workingdays ago, please report back at the forum with the date you sent your first support ticket and we will point to Skype Staff.

Note that accounts get blocked for your own safety because e.g. someone hijacked your Skyper account, your Bank account, Credit card, you are connecting through a fraudulent IP etc. Skypre needs all your details to find out what the real cause of the blockage is and how they can solve it as soon as possible.

I submitted a trouble ticket on the morning of August 9th, and it is now August 14th and i have had no response. My user name is dapollak and, like others, when i try to use skype it says my account has been blocked. Please help resolve this as soon as possible. I am travelling around southeast asia and rely on skype for calls home. Thank you.

Can us customers always expect this lengthy delay on blocked account issues?

Do customers who get blocked accounts due to billing issues get the same treatment as blocked accounts due to the "bad countries" issue you mentioned in another post?

Occoasionally (and unfortuntely too much at the moment) replying to tickets of blocked accounts does not happen within two days. that is where we help out. Blocked accounts need time to be investigated and often with third (payment / IP) parties.

Us customers need to sit on our thumbs for two days or four days waiting for this 'response' ?
You PM'd me 4 days and posted 2 on the forums.

Usually it takes 2 days to reply to support tickets but Blocked accounts can take 4 days because often third parties are involved to locate the problem. I am very sorry sadsmile.png
