Skype for Business vs Skype Pro

Hi guys,
I'm just deciding whether to use Skype Business or Skype Pro for a small business for Skypeout calls. I'm in Australia, and it looks to me that Skype for Business bills by the minute for national calls, whereas Skype Pro does not (5.9 cents per call untimed). If this is the case, it seems that there wouldn't be any benefit using Skype for Business as billing per minute for local calls could get extremely expensive. Does anyone know if this is actually the case, or does Skype for Business preserve the Skype Pro features PLUS allow maintenance of call credits per employee via the control panel etc. Thanks in advance for any replies. Dean First, I think you mean "Normal SkypeOut Rates" when you mention Skype for Business, basically, it would be Skype without Skype Pro in your case. The Skype Contol panel for a business really only has two functions, to fund mutiple Skype names with Skype credits, that can be used to make calls, or purchase addtional Skype services, such as Skype Pro, or to puchase SkypeIn numbers, so that those numbers are not connected to a Skype name, and can be re-assigned if for example someone leaves the company. So, yes, if you have many people, who will be calling landlines within Australia from Australia, you can use the Skype Control Panel to fund credits to Skype names under your control panel so that they can purchase Skype Pro, as well as fund them for the connection charges and calls not covered by Skype Pro, for example calls made to cell phones, using one method of payment, -------------------- |

Much appreciated. I have a better understanding of how it all hangs together now. I guess the only other query about purchasing via Skype for Business vs purchasing directly as an individual is that, as far as I can tell, all credits / services purchased under Skype for Business are charged for in limited currencies which don't include $AU. Accordingly, all credits purchased under Skype for Business would incur a small charge for exchange rate conversions. Purchasing credits etc as an individual can be done in my local currency ($AU) currently. Do you know if my understanding is correct? I have altered my local currency to $AU, but any purchases under Skype for Business don't offer $AU as a payment option. Have a great day! Dean |

Dean Well, the most important point is you can't for example use the same credit card or same PayPal Id for multiple Skype names, so if you plan to purchase credits for multiple Skype names, using one method of payment it would not work. -------------------- |
