Skype for windows Mobile 2.2.0.18 known issues:
* On PocketPC phone editions audio comes out from loudspeaker, it is not transferred to phone speaker. To avoid using loudspeaker, we suggest you to use wired headset. This will also give you better overall sound quality in Skype calls. * In many cases if you have bluetooth headset connected to Windows mobile device, it is not possible to use it for Skype calls. In most cases you will not hear anything, or most of the text is cut off. * In case you participate in many multichats and you log into Skype on mobile devices, multichat synchronization might freeze your device for several minutes. Similar freeze might also occur when you have lot of Contacts in your Contacts list (more than 50). To avoid this we suggest you to have separate Skype account for mobile devices where you have only most important contacts. * On some occasions SkypeIn calls doesn't get through to Windows mobile devices. In most cases it helps if you quit Skype and start it again. If it is continuous problem for you, please report it to our customer support. * When you are logged into Skype with same username on different platforms, some users in your Contacts list might have different statuses displayed on different platforms. Usually PC has correct information in these cases. * Chat privacy settings are not working on some cases. If you do not allow chats from non-contacts or from users who are not authorized, their chats might still get through to you. -------------------- For support go to:

Hello,
Thanks for Skype 2.2 Beta and here some feedback from my device. I own an XDA NEO (HTC Prophet) and had these issues. * Speaker on the back is sending the other participants voice rather than the ear speaker (which is reported by you already). * When you call someone (be it a person or the test call service) then Skype starts to ring. Sadly it continues ringing quite often regardless whether the other participant has already picked up. I then hear the other participant but Skype still continues ringing. * Still very bad sound disortion. While the other participant is hearing me quite good I on the other hand hear him very bad. A lot of disortion which then ends in hangups from my side since it's not possible to continue talking. * Sometimes Skype hangs. e.g. not taking any stylus input for hangup or other things. It takes quite some time which usually results in resets from my side. * A test call from my side to the test system (including 10 seconds voice recording) gave perfect results. * My participant from the other end of the phone told me that he hears echos. That means whenever he talks he hears his own voice again (probably due to the back side speaker). These are just my quick informations. It would be nice to get some feedback and updates. Otherwise Skype 2.2 is quite nice. But it has to work well as well |

These all are known issues and most of them only affect HTC Prophet

Hi, JASJAM should not be affected by these problems, what connection are you using, do you have many contacts or participate in many chats/multichats?
(I presume you have downloaded the high cpu version) Regards, -------------------- Best regards,

It states that it is versio 2.2.0.18. But I run it from the memory card. Is this ok? I don't have many contacts (about 15) and don't do many chats. |

Hi,
try installing on device instead. Latency accessing the storage card is bigger so Skype will generally run faster if installed on device. This can also affect voice quality. Regards, -------------------- Best regards,

I have installed the IMATE SP5 version on my HTC MTeoR, as there is no available download for this smartphone model and thought this is a reasonable alternative - is this a safe assumption?
Once installed, I am able to login to Skype, although when I try make a call, either to another skype contact or dial a fixed line, it rings on the other side but when the other person answers the call drops and my Skype disconnects and exits on device. Let me know if there is a way to fix this? |

I have lowered my minutes and paid the $15 for unlimited calls for 1 year. I think this is a great deal and product. -------------------- |

I've installed beta version for smartphone on Dopod c720w (HTC Excalibur). Installs Ok but on sign-in screen it does not accept alpha input (ie. cursor sticks at first position). It does accept numeric entry and even symbols. Obviously this is no good as my user name is alpha character.
I tried both the Application (installed through Activesync) and the CAB file with same result. Any ideas? |

I'm not sure how to do in on your phone, but maybe the pressing the function button helps? I have not heard any other users complain about this so it's most likely not a problem with the Skype application. |

I tried all the input mode changes that I know (including the function keys, CAP key / combinations etc) I can input in numeric and symbols, but not in alpha. I too have not found mention of this problem elsewhere so I'm puzzled! |

How did you lower your minutes??? 15$ for a 1 year that doesn't sound real??? I want to buy 8525 but I would like to avoid Data connection plan is that possible? |
