Please check your SPAM settings and the SPAM folder at the server. Also make sure you are still using the same e-mail address you signed up with.

If you paid per bank, it can take 7-10 working days.

I am in the same situation. Payed by credit card received the email receipt AND the email telling me about the 72hrs so SPAM settings not an issue.

Does anyone know if the skype software will have a notice telling us the free uk calls has been activated?

same as you merlin except I paid by credit card.

I don't mind. It's just that 72hrs means 72hrs. If they can't achieve their own objectives then an email or something on the skype website saying sorry it'll take a bit longer would be nice. It'll save us trying to chase it, and it'll save them answering our responses.

I didn't get an email to confirm activation, but the free calls were applied to my account within 72 hours of buying the credit.

thanks for the info spud, did something show up in the skype software for you to know it had been activated? or did you just make a call and realise that you weren't charged?

If it's anything like the free call offer in France - it just happened. I didn't realise until I saw the €0.0 charges against the calls. May be worth just trying it to see.

Credit paid by Paypal on 19th Oct, no activation email received, but as of 23rd the "free" UK calls seems to be working after 4 days delay.

Whilst it is good to get the "free" calls, which brings it temporarily in line with Vonage and the BT plans, the bodged implementation is disappointing. Skype still has a way to go in terms of getting to business quality phone systems. When I pick up the Skype headset I hope to get reasonable call quality. When I pick up the phone handset for BT & Vonage I assume that I will get good call quality.

I don't knock the concept of Skype - it saved me loads of money calling home (UK) from the hotel when I was working in Moscow. Rather it is sadness that Skype (Ebay) serially get it wrong in terms of product release.

For anyone who is missing the "Free Calls" activation email, you can check for activation by visiting the Promotions page on your account,
https://secure.skype.com/store/myaccount/promotions.html

When the service is activated you should see an item like this,
Unlimited UK landline calls for 6 months status Delivered

I too paid £10 + VAT Skype credit and still yet to have the free calls activation notification email. This is incredible poor and the silence from Skype is deafening.

I have contacted BBC's consumer affairs Watchdog programme regarding this matter.

Will raise a support issue, as I encourage others too, and post back the resolution. I have a support issue outstanding from August so I won't hold my breath.
