I've just blogged about the new controls for Skypecasts moderators and participants, with some mockups of how it will look. We're planning to deploy these in the next release of Skype, coming soon.

I like it.
It's been said before elsewhere in this forum but I'll repeat it again. The one biggest feature I'm looking for during skypecasts is to make it easy to maintain a simultaneous back channel group chat of the participants. |

If the new Skypecast controls are within the client GUI, then it should be possible to 'select all' and create a group chat. Perhaps Dan can confirm this?
It would be nice if new participants were automatically added to the group chat, but I suspect that would require some additional coding in the client. EDIT: More questions. Will the members of a Skypecast be accessible through the API? Are they in a contact group? |

Thanks for the post - nice to see what Skype is up to.
The SkypeCast enhancements look great and I'm excited. We can have a lot more control over the SkypeCasts using the Skype program rather than a browser window and I'm sure it would be easier to create options for Skype to make money. dont forget us mac users...(your post said changes are to next version of windows.) there was an update it appears yesterday for windows (version 2 something) and we are still on version 1.
also, I am macimonkeybrains, however in the forum I couldnt use my skype name as someone else registered it. (what are the chances of that) you would think skype would keep user names the same in the forum as in the account...could cause confusion if you see macimonkeybrains posting here, yet see me (the original) posting in skpye cast. this should probably be addressed, and users here revoked of there user name if it goes over an existing skype users name. Just curious and confused about the difference between the two products. Will the new SkypeCasts extend to client capabilities be extended to the High Speed Conferencing product? http://www.highspeedconferencing.com/ (Skype product??)
