The Skypecasts directory supports RSS feeds, so you can view up and coming Skypecasts listings, on topics of interest to you. You can subscribe to featured Skypecasts by clicking on "subscribe to this page" on the right hand column of http://skypecasts.skype.com, but the RSS feeds are actually way more powerful.

You can cut and paste the following URLs into your favourite RSS reader (mine is http://www.bloglines.com), to subscribe to your preferred Skypecasts listings:

The featured parameter can also be used with user, partner and keyword specific requests to get only featured Skypecasts matching the criteria.

Limiting the results

The above example would return no more than 2 Skypecasts containing the word "skype" in the listing. The limit parameter can be added to any query above.

Any chance for RSS feeds for 2 popular SkypeCast pages and my personal favorites - "On Now" and "Starting Soon" :?: :?:

I've raised this as a bug. It was a pure oversight when we were writing the specs. I hope this is something we can fix in a few weeks. You're welcome to web scrape the On Now and Starting Soon pages in the meanwhile, especially if you share!

No news yet. Our current focus is on the changes need to support the next version of Skype -- namely getting the controls and listings into the client experience.

My fear is that the next version of Skype will have improvements for SkypeCasts, but may not have fixed the Video issue. So we'll have to make a choice between Video and SkypeCasts.

I must be missing something. The Page Title is "RSS feeds for up and coming Skypecasts" on This Page but nowhere does it seem to reference how to setup a RSS feed for either "On now" or "Coming soon" pages. Interesting that this page has a working RSS button for the discussion, would it be too hard to put a RSS button on the "On now" page and one on the "Coming soon" page ??

Other pages have RSS feeds and don't these too pages list the available Skypecasts that are available for participation? Very strange we continue to not have RSS feeds for them - if we do - sorry I missed it - where's the button?

beto_nl - thanks for the post. Looks like another 6 months has gone by and unless I'm missing something - still no RSS feeds. I see an ad to use to help promote Skypecasts in our blogs, but not what we really need which is an RSS feed for "on now" and one for "Starting Soon".

The conclusion that I came to was that Skype was not interested in promoting Skypecasts.

I think Skypecasts is a wonderful service and private casts could easily generate revenue for Skype where a percent of a conference fee for private casts could go to Skype.
