Hi All,

Its been 1 month since I placed skypeOut order. They have charged me 23 USD though my order was for only 10USD. And the best thing is that order is still pending and I havent got any skype credit. I think skype is taking online user for a ride. They are openly operating these fraud under sun.

I have raised ticket but there was no response. Only after posting on this form, I got the reply. After that I am still waiting for response. It is heartening to know that they dont have real person support.

I know there are many people like me who are cheated by skype. It is my request to all such people to unite and drag the skype to court. Maybe they are taking undue advantage of nature of business. Since there are no real person involved in skype, they are thinking that they can fool people and cheat them.

Lets come forward and bring unity from online citizens and make an impact so that tomorrow no other firm even think of this kind of fraud.

Suggestion and comments are welcome.

Hi Ike,

having been browsing these forums for the last few days, I have learned 2 things:- 1. I am not alone in having been fraudulently missled and robbed by this "company" masquerading online as a reputable service provider whilst hiding behind a mask of unanswered "Support" webforms, and stealing money from people on what appears to be a regular basis. and 2. You single handedly appear to be able to read, understand and reply to more of Skype's unhappy victims (customers) than they can as a "company", I am sure you have every good intention of "pointing" all of these issues to their staff (accomplices), However, it would appear definately in my case, and in others I have read, that your efficient reading and pointing is falling unread into the same bin as Skype's victims' "support" requests, this faceless and covert "company clearly have no interest whatsoever in customer service or satisfaction. I personally have already filed a fraud complaint both with my bank and with police, and both of these organisations appear to be having the same issues with skype's covert operation as I and loads of others are having. I would Urge anyone having the goodwill to be reading this before giving these people any money NOT TO and anyone who has already paid and received no service do not waste your time sending "support" requests or emails, immediately report the payment as a fraud to your bank and your local police authority.

I couldn't have said it better. Skype has these people who supposedly "point" issues to ??? and I beleive it's a smoke screen to cover their poor customer service and give a false sense of hope to us who have problems with crappy service/support.

Suggest you look into other services like the new Yahoo which is where I am going if I don't get a fix by tonight. Also, reply to any and all blogs or articles that have reviewed Skype and apparently received monetary rewards for rating this service so high.

I am sending one to Fortune magazine since Skype uses them as a reference on their home page to suck people in. Also will send one to ZDNET whose publication also gave high marks to this piece of work.

I also would look forward to a class action law suit!!!

I totally agree, they dont give the free minutes as advertised, and why should i have to send emails asking why they havent given me what they said was provided?
Perhaps we should contact a consumer group such as this.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/

perhaps some bad publicity will help and if i had seen this forum i certainly would not have bought their product!!

In the meantime, we have lots of consumer advice which may help you resolve the matter yourself.

I Totally Agree, we should all unite and start up a Class Action law-suits world wide, then Skype would certainly need human representitives to actually appear in court, I am already preparing for a big-big hitout, starting with my local member in Parliment, then our TIO, Telecummunications Industry Obmudsman here in Australia as Skype are now a telecomunications company with their SpypeLN offernings and so is the ACCC very interested to come to the party. SKype will be brought to their knees and hopefully other corporates don't think they can get away with such SCAM like Skype are currently getting away with. You see We individuals don't even count in Skypes equation as they have millions of users paying and paying. As I said before, the only thing that would get Skypes attention, is when they have to go to court to explain in a Class action law-suit, which sould cost Skype a pretty penny as well.....

Anyone want to join the lawsuit against them for

a) Being faceless cowards
b) Not honouring free calls for Skype plus customers.
c) Have a customer support mechanism that is Crap.

They are annoying beyond compare, oh no lets say Vonage just as bad, money grabbing faceless scoundrels of no worth in this world except for scamming the public.

Yeah bring it on. Should be xxxxx not skype

Moderators/Skype staff will NEVER
ask you for your password nor your full credit card number. The only places you are asked for your password are when you sign into Skype or on the website if you want to make a purchase or check your account.
If we ask for credit card details only the first 4 and last 4 digits are required.

Count me in! They just seem to charge whatever they want for their service, even though it is stated differently on the website. They also sold me a Skypein number that was already in use. I paid for it, set up my voice mail, but it kept going to default voice mail. I called the number all day, and finally reached someone at my new number. I purchased another number. I have contacted customer support about the original number, but I still haven't gotten anywhere. The idiot customer support lady asked me if I wanted a refund? Duh!! I can't use the number, of course, I want a refund. No response since the 29th of April. I heard at one time, Skype was a decent service. It probably went downhill when e-bay bought it. I refuse to use e-bay or paypal. They are both crappy services!

Customer Support asked you if you wanted a refund because some users do and others don't - preferring to have their OnLine # replaced.
This is standard practice.
If I understand you correctly your replacement # is working normally and you have requested a refund of your original malfunctioning one.
If so, please advise your username and date you filed your ticket so we can follow up on this.

Just another story of Skype charging whatever they want... and complete inability to understand how they mislead people.

My Skype Pro subscription had expired which lead to me paying for all outgoing calls by the per minute rate. This is fine as I did not have enough credit in my account for it to auto renew. Upon realizing this on my own (of course they don’t send an e-mail to notify me); I login and review my account.

The view my subscriptions page says:
Next Payment - When there is enough Skype Credit available in your account this subscription will be automatically activated.

So I add credit to my account… Now I guess I am just a complete idiot to think that Skype would actually automatically renew my Skype Pro subscription… as it never got renewed… which meant I was still paying the per minute rate for all outgoing calls.

I go back and forth with Skype support; whomever was assigned to my ticket was completely unable to comprehend anything that I described of the situation. As a Skype customer of a couple of years now… all I wanted was a refund for $5.70 for them misleading me to think that they were going to automatically renew my subscription ($5.70 was the total amount for calls that I made after I added the credit to my account for the subscription to be AUTOMATICALLY renewed).

Bad enough they don’t understand how they are misleading people… They tell me that I am REQUIRED to MANUALLY renew my subscription and they insult me by giving me a voucher “as a gesture of good will” which was less than the $5.70 that I had requested… I think I have a pretty strait forward understandable situation… I DON’T NEED A GESTURE OF GOOD WILL … I just want a refund for being misled.

To me this is unacceptable. Sad to say I will be canceling my account over something so petty.
