I've tried this on both Skype 3.8 (my favorite version) and skype 4, and whenever i start up Skype, or Start up Pamela call recorder, it says "unable to initialize skype connection library, or skype is not running. Please check your skype instalation or restart Skype.

This means that a Skype module called "Skype for COM" is not installed on your system.

Can you please check your c:\program\common files and see if you have a folder called "Skype" there? If the folder is present please check if it has a files called "Skype4COM.dll" with version 1.0.31.0 (see properties).

Can you please try the following steps and let me know the results.

1. Click in Windows on "Start" and then "Run..."
2. Enter "regsrv32 c:\common files\skype\skype4com.dll" (without the " ")
3. Click OK and note down the result message shown

Does Pamela Call Recorder start after the above (assuming the result of the command was a success message)?

That will never work; it's not 'regsRV32' it's 'regsVR32'

Also, the command line/run tool is going to have problems with the space in 'common files' (which, on my machine, is under 'Program Files')

Here's the command I was able to run successfully on my Windows XP machine:

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Skype\Skype4COM.dll"

Yes, *WITH* the quotes, so it doesn't choke on the blank space in the 'Common Files' folder name.

I've been getting the same error on my Vista32 system, however the fix described above soesn't seem to work for me. I get the following error when I execute the 'regsvr32.exe' command:

The module "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Skype\Skype4COM.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005

Any ideas?
