Video call ends abruptly.

Hello,
When in a video call with a friend, it keeps ending abruptly. It takes about 1 minute or so, and it says "call ended" for me, and "connection lost" for my friend. We can voice with a few cut offs here and there, but once we video, it ends. Then it says my friend goes offline for a second or two, then comes back online. When in reality, none of us goes offline. When trying to IM each other after the video call ended, our IMs do not show up, and we have to wait 5 minutes to receive them. But if we sign out/in, we will be able to IM each other again. I am using Windows and my friend Mac. I am using Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 and my friend is using iSight. Thank you for your time and help. |

Bluemuffin!
Bets way to troubleshoot this is for both of you to call me. Please monitor call connection details, take screen shot and post here.

It would help if you are both on 4.0.
I am assuming you are both running Windows However, the bigger problem is you are running out of CPU power 97 %. Kill all the other apps running Regards, Bill -------------------- |

I am on Windows, and my friend is on Mac. I am guessing there is no 4.0 for Mac, or any other version that would count as the same?
I do kill all the apps. When I am on Skype, the CPU is not more than 2%, and it seems it randomly goes as high as 97% or so, for no reason, then the video call dies. Regards, bluemuffin |

Blue!
For the CPU to randomly climb to 100% means something is colliding with Skype. I would update your webcam drivers and your Video Adapter Driver. I would temporarily uninstall your anti virus (what brand do you have) and any 3rd party firewalls. The invitation to test with me is still open. Regards, Bill -------------------- |

Hello,
I updated my video & webcam drivers, but it did not seem to help. & at the moment, the CPU is not a problem. Is the invitation to test with you still open? Regards, bluemuffin |
