Great! It would be nice if Skype for Windows mobile could have those features:

  • save the previous volume and adjust according (or at least adjust the volume when talking to a pre-defined value)
  • video support
  • auto-away if mobile display is turned off (standby)
  • option to vibrate instead of ringing
  • more stable (at least here, it crashes after some time there's no connection)
  • option to auto-start when Windows Mobile is started
  • lock input when talking (useful for touch-screen mobiles)

Thanks!

Support for the internal earpiece instead of the speakerphone. I've seen it quoted on the boards that you need help from the OEM to get it to work. But if Fring can accomplish this task I know that Skype can for the official client!

Hi,
beta 2,5 does not work with my xperia, but found older version that works, would like to see support for "normal" speaker, and bluetooth headset.
Video would be nice. no.png

It would be nice if it was possible to send files via Skype. Another feature that you should consider including is the contact groups.

I'd love it it would work on my WM6.1 ASUS P750... cause right now it doesn't. It just crashes as soon as I try to make a call...

Agree 100%

I'm not a developer, but it is just plainly unacceptable that you guys have not figured this one out in such a long time. If it requires to reflash/ROM the phone, we (your users) are ready to take the plunge. Just tell us what to do.

Start here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...amp;postcount=1

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402463

At the very least, you should PUBLISH an official list of Windows 6.1 phones that support use of the internal earpiece rather than the speaker phone with Skype.

Thanks for listening

The today screen, or status bar, or whatever you call it on the main page, is forced upon the user without permission and ruins/clutters the main screen. I want it gone. Until then, you can forget about me installing Skype on my pocket pc.

I really like the new 2.5, I see that you now have ActiveSync support, which I think is great.

I guess it does not matter if we ask for the same thing twice:
  • Video support (With WiFi and Activeync ?), if iVisit can, why can't you?
  • Other sound than the speakerphone (internal mic, bluetooth headset)
  • Integration with Outlook (or whatever it is called on the Pocket PC), this could generally be improved in Skype (Microsoft allowing).

I'd love to have an easier way to switch between active chats, perhaps as a menu item (similar to how MSN does it). Right now to switch to another chat, I have to close the current one, navigate to the new one and open it; which causes the app to freeze up while it loads the conversation into memory

For me these are things that need to be implemented soon:

- Audio via earpiece and not rear speaker only: MUST HAVE nr 1.
- Good BT integration: MUST HAVE nr 2.
- Outlook contacts integration (it is very annoying when doing a Skype Out call go to contacts application, copy and paste onto Skype): NICE TO HAVE.

I tried to download and install Skype newest version for WM but after downloading (about 7mb) and installing, I tried to run and it and got an error and was told to reinstall Skype. I download it again, saved it on a folder then install it but got the same error.

I am using HTC Touch with WM 6.1, is this new Skype version compatible with WM 6.1?

Are you downloading the pocket pc version? if not, that's what you need.

- Video Call:
For sure the most expected one.

- Ring calls for each contact:
Using mp3, it would be really nice and useful.

- Better contact list:
Options to sort, to group, etc...

Yes indeed WE NEED TO HAVE THE OPTION IN SETTINGS TO SWITCH FROM SPEAKERPHONE TO THE EARPIECE!! THAT WILL MAKE THE APPLICATION MORE VALUABLE AN ALSO WHEN I CHOOSE TO CALL A NUMBER IN MY PHONE CONTACT LIST AND CHOOSE "CALL UNSING SKYPE" FEATURE, IT TELLS ME "INVALID NUMBER" BECAUSE IT'S FORCING ME TO PUT A (+1)IN FRONT !!! HOW CAN WE DO AWAY WITH THAT????

LET ME KNOW WHEN THE NEXT VERSION FOR WINDOWS MOBILE 6.1 HAS THESE AVAILABLE!!!

- full Bluetooth support
- if the device is running in power saving mode (e.g. CPU frequency reduced to less than 400 MHz), a little reminder would be useful:
"Your device is not running at full speed. Call quality may be reduced".

The most obvious one would be to take out the speaker off, or support bluetooth. But I've heard that a regular wired earpiece works, so I'm going out today to buy that. I'll just be one of the last kids still using a wired earpiece in the school yard.

I think you should optimize the voice engine to run well on a 400 MHz phones smile.png

I know that there were patent issues with the old voice algorithm but as far as I know it was better. There are rumors that eBay might resell Skype back to their original creators and therefore there's hope that the old voice engine could return smile.png
