I'm stuck with this error for a few days now - downloaded and installed the skype-2.0.0.72 CentOS RPM on CentOS 5.0.
As soon as I try to start it - it crashes out with the error "Aborted.". Tried deleting the ~/.Skype directory - did not help. Not sure what is going on or how I can get it to work. Attached is the log file produced.

I have the same problem with all 2.0.0.72 Linux versions available. I wanted to try 1.4.0.118 but there is a library missing:
libsigc-2.0.so.0 => not found Maybe I can find it somewhere. |

This was driving me nuts, but check this out:
bug report from skype team so at the bottom there's a comment that says that there's a workaround: unplug your webcam while starting Skype This worked for me. |
