I already searched about this issue on the forum, but I'm still not sure what to do.
Last week, I tried to buy SkypeOut credits, but I got this message beside my order: "Visa credit card (CANCELLED)" What does it mean? Did I do something wrong? What should I do? And the ammount has been charged on my credit card. Or has it been only reserved and not transfered? Thanks |

I have been cancelled many times.
I've checked with my credit card company and they said Skype decided not to make transactions with Israel. Now I see I am not the only one and may be the problem is greater than just being an Israeli credit card holder. |

I have just had the same thing happen to me. I am in South Africa and wondered whether that was the problem. Does anyone have any answers?

Rosanne Try and try again. My father got Skype to charge his UAE based CC even though he was in Singapore - so it works now and again, of course he had to try repeatedly for a few days. |

I've had the same problem. I wish I read these forums before trying to make the purchase.
Advice: do not use their Visa card payment. |

And the ammount has been charged on my credit card. Or has it been only reserved and not transfered? Thanks Well, join the crowd. I've read about cards issued out of South Africa and Israel also having problems. I, myself, being resident in Tokyo, Japan have the exact same problems and experiences with my Visa card from Japan. It is issued by Citibank, Japan a worldwide, well-known financial institution. I initially get accepted, but when attempting to dial out to a land line, I get a failed connection, and that my order to credit my account for Eurodollars was cancelled. I don't think it is the credit card holders as much as it is a problem with Skype's infrastructure perhaps. As an alternative solution to being able to call out to ordinary land lines via VoIP, you may want to have a look at www.stanaphone.com. It is a service similar to Skype. They also have a similar service to not only calling out to a land line, but to also be able to place calls phone to phone via your internet connection, without ever needing to even turn on your PC. You need to buy an adapter from them though to be able to do that. ($69.95 USD) Anyway, as for charging my credit card, I applied and my card was credited for the amount within 15 minutes. Hope this benefits some o f you members of planet earth out there. (^J^) Cheers, Jerry  -------------------- Jerry S.

another south african refused access.
I can no longer select VISA if I try again - it just shows that silly Moneybookers option. The live help is rubbish, plus they won't give you a proper contact email or number. |

Thanks I'm from Spain and I had the same problem three weeks ago, and I can´t get more credit from moneybookers. I sent my personal documents and a bank report about the credit card statement, but I haven't recieve any answer yet. I wrote skype to suggest a change in the pay company. In three months I had severals problems with Skype out pay. |

Hello, my name is Graham I'm from Canada. I'm a student of computer engineering and I have no phone so I used to use skype. I have been trying from mid December to buy more time. First the payment confirmation window would not load. Then on the 16th of January I tried and it said it went and it was ok and the time showed up on my skype. About 10 minutes later it was gone and my card payment canceled. I buy various things online and even pay bills online. The card has ++money on it and it’s not even close, ever, to the limit. I have tried about every 5 days or so to purchase time. I have spoken I think to about 6 ppl in skype online help chat. All useless and can't help me at all. They use termonaligy they don’t even understand like the CVV code. I didn't know what that was and I asked and they just replied with the copy and paste of the previous script. I am not happy with skype. I have reported them to VISA international because it seems that only visa is having this issue with them. My buddy used MasterCard and has no issues. But it seems for us to use VISA we must pay a 3% sure charge VIA moneybookers.com. Besides skype support telling us to go to moneybookers.com and sign up, to use a service like visa that skype advertises to us as a direct payment option. They are of no help. I have spoken with 3 reps concerning payment with VISA (VISA REPS) they all say the payments are accepted and authorized but they are waiting for skype to take the money. I am mad and upset. No answers and useless help lines that don't help at all. All I want is a VOIP phone from skype to work. I liked the service, when I had it. I even went and bought a skype phone with the same VISA card after skype had refused my payment. In short this is not right the way they are treated would be customers that would like to use VISA. I wrote them an email and they didn’t even answer the question, all they did tell me what a CVV code is and they told me next time to be more careful when entering in the information for the card, while what I asked was when the VISA payments will be resolved.

I'm suprised to see Skype let the credit card linger. A key to selling things is to get peoples money before they decide to spend it elsewhere. That's why at a fast food joint they'll push to hurry and take your ord and then let you wait for your food. It's a lot easier to walk out before you've placed your order and handed over your money than after.
I tried adding some minutes too and it was rejecting the same card I used the first time. And at that I was using the exact address Skype used last time. I tried a 2nd card and had the same problem os i figured the issue was with skpe's netowrk. Too bad to see others having the same problems. |

This is precisely how I feel about it. WHEN is Skype going to get its act together?? This is sad. I was able to buy credit ONCE after trying for WEEKS. So I know it is possible, so WHY do you have to be denied 100 times in order to make a transaction??? This is CRAZY. For some one with excellent credit, and living in the USA, this is a really unusual situation for me and VERY frustrating. I hope I will hear from SOMEONE at Skype as to WHAT is going on? Are they crazy or something by turning money away???????????????? This is a VERY unusual business model to me. Best, Dennis (in San Francisco) |
