Please note that, in order to use PayPal for Skype purchases, it is necessary to enter your credit/debit card details for identity purposes and/or as a back-up funding source in case your bank account cannot be used for your chosen purchase.
Once your credit/debit card details have been entered you should be able to use your PayPal funds to transact purchases.

Moderators/Skype staff will NEVER
ask you for your password nor your full credit card number. The only places you are asked for your password are when you sign into Skype or on the website if you want to make a purchase or check your account.
If we ask for credit card details only the first 4 and last 4 digits are required.

Then what exactly is the point of PayPal? There are those of us who prefer not to use credit/debit cards. At least provide an explanation for such a ridiculous decision.

I guess it's been done to avoid fraud. In reality, it's probably done so the credit-card company can be held liable if fraud does occur. I would ask "What's the point of becoming PayPal Verified?"

You would only need to use your CC for identification confirmation.
Thereafter you should be able to purchase using your PayPal funds.

What of us - that do not have Credit Cards? Or Debit Cards with Expirey Dates on them? I chose to get a Paypal account and wait the days over Christmas - to have them verify by sending amounts to my account so I could be verified - lengthy process - but confirmed. Now I have all my details in my skype account matching those at home and paypal - but I am now barred from using the money I sent into paypal on skype because I am not an owner of a CC?

I have a ticket in with PayPal - the rep and I spent a hour nearly a week ago on the phone (my dime), trying to solve this issue - the rep was baffled why I could not make an instant payment to Skype from my current balance at PayPal.

Is this a new policy change that I was unaware of?

That changed whilst I took the time to set this all up?

The PayPal rep even had me change some of my canadian currencey to USDollars on the chance that is what Skype needed to draw on - I change $75 Canadian to USD$'s so that it would well cover any current purchases leaving well over double of that in CAD in my account.

I am very frustrated at this whole process.

Can I send money directly to skype from PayPal, ie is there a sender# and secure email I can send to?

Please Help.

Hello PIC,
Yes - there has been a recent policy change which may well have happened between the time your set up your PP account and now.
The reason for the CC/DC requirement is two fold:
1. To confirm identity and
2. To provide a back-up funding process in case a Bank Account/Funds cannot be used for whatever reason.
Is it possible for you to use an alternative payment method?
http://www.skype.com/prices/paymentmethods/?country=CA
It's not possible to send money via secure mail.

I'm having problems getting skype credit. Keep getting message that payment has failed on CC. It has never failed before on my CC and I have no balance. What is the problem? Was so simple before.

Getting pretty frustrated!

Are you buying from Skype direct or via PayPal?
If direct have you tried both the web site and your client?
If these options don't work you will need to file a support ticket here: http://support.skype.com/?_a=tickets&_m=submit

I just can't believe that if I'm in Colombia I can't pay with my PayPal account as I usualy did in the past here on Skype.

Is the first time this year that I needed to put credits on my group account and found that PayPal option isn't anymore present for me. WHY????

I pay anything with PayPal.

I sent a ticket and will wait for the answer but if I can't contionue using PayPal I'll move to another service like internetcalls.com (which accepts paypal without being so stupid asking X for identity purpouses... bla, bla, bla.

Skype accepts paypal funds trabnsfer for countries that support terrorism and not from Colombia... nice deal. Hope to have this solved on my account, otherwise I'll move with all my users group to other service. Thanks.

Well buddy, I have lo mismo problemo, the same problem. Even here in great old Canada-- so called "British" Columbia.
I used paypal in the past to buy skype unlimited (which skype now seems to have canceled, boo hoo, that's all I really wanted, too bad I should have bought 12 months when I could, I had no idea they'd be canceling this offering) but they won't let me use my paypal to buy skype pro (which apparently replaces skype unlimited although you can't get a firm answer on whether you'll be charged a connection fee, emailed their support, no answer so far, 3 days later) because I don't have a credit card attached to my paypal account. I use paypal because I don't have a credit card! How hard is that? But because skype wants access to take payments from paypal on a monthly basis paypal demands the back-up of a credit card. Even though I have a positive balance in paypal and even though i offered to purchase it for the whole year! They want access to take money after that year? Even though it's really cheap, I think they're asking a lot here. And basically making it impossible to pay. Not quite sure what to do here. I hope "they" are reading this. It's like, help! we want to buy your service!

Please advise the date you filed and your username.
You won't be able to use PayPal for Skype purchases without submitting your credit card details for verification and backup funding (if necessary).

Not quite sure what to do here.

Re PayPal - you can't use this payment verhicle for Skype purchases without submitting your credit card details for verification and backup funding purposes (if necessary).
Re SkypePro - there is NO connection fee with free calls which start and finish within the USA/Canada.

Hi, I have a paypal account and I used it to purchase credit on our family skype account. I know have my own personal account with Skype and want to purchase credite with my paypal account. Because of some security setup with Skype I cannot do that. I have tried dis-associating my paypal account with my family account (as described in the FAQ help section) but that did not work. I have sent three requests to Skype for assistance through Support Request, and have not received one reply. Please help me resolve this issue, or at least tell me where I can talk one-on-one with a Skype Customer Service agent.

Thanks

Hello,
It's not possible to de-link your credit card/PayPal account from the Skype account it was first used for unless you use the Business Control Panel.
http://www.skype.com/business/
You don't need to be a business to register.
If this doesn't help, please advise with your username and date you filed your first ticket so I can follow up.
