Buy Skype Credit direct with PayPal funds?

Is this not possible? Can we not use funds that are a part of our balance of our PayPal accounts to purchase Skype credit?
Or is the only way via credit or debit card or bank account transfer... If so, it kind of makes PayPal useless... |

Nevermind, I was getting thrown off by the PayPal approved option, which requires a credit card or debit card. After I unchecked that option I could buy Skype credit normally with my PayPal account.

What can I say.. it is upsetting when company agenda gets in the way of user satisfaction. I have a paypal account and have always used it to pay for skype. Then the "optional" credit card thing you talk about crops up. I must always un-check it as if it is some great feature and if I forget then I have to start over.
BUT NOW THERE IS NO MORE OPTION??!!! IT SEEMS I MUST USE A CREDIT CARD TO PAY. What good is my Paypal balance when I can't use it. Basically ebay holds my money in Paypal and will not let me use it for Skype (also ebay). Is this new??? Why has this changed?? How can I use paypal balances to pay for skype? This is just getting too frustrating to be useful. OH.. and I live in New York.. in the USA.. and my account is certified++ with hundreds of transactions.. over years.. so I don't want to hear that I'm not trustworthy to make a phone call. After all.. ebay.. you already have my money.. all I want is to use it with your products. I would appreciate any explanation. AJT PS. Here is what I do to try to pay for skype. 1. I click on "buy skype credit" within skype. 2. I'm directed to a screen letting me select $10 or $25. The default payment is set to Visa. 3. I figure out that when I change my address here.. I get a chance to switch Visa to Paypal. 4. I'm then directed to paypal.. to a special screen that lets me enter a credit card number to pay for skype. The fact that I carry a positive paypal balance seems not to matter. Nor does the fact that I have a paypal Credit card. I'm guessing that the Paypal CC will not work.. so I did not even try. Remember.. pissed customers eventually leads to failed businesses... ebay is on its way. |

Have you tried unchecking the ''Approved Option'' on the PayPal screen?

Hi Everyone!
I've always paid for my Skype credit through PayPal, it has always been set as my default payment option and never spent more than 5 minutes to complete a payment transaction. Today, for the first time, I was asked to add a new credit/debit card to my PayPal account in order to proceed with the transaction. I was given no other options, like using my already existing PayPal balance. Why is this happening now? Is this anything to do with my almost 3-year-old, verified PayPal account? Is this related to any new Skype policy? At least I'm not alone in this one, and I'm glad, cos I almost reformat my hard drive thinking it had been attacked by a computer virus. Skype officials, please drop us a line when you can. Best regards and Merry Christmas to all! Juan Ignacio Pagola. QUOTE(robinhood1 @ Thu Dec 13 2007, 17:38) I tried paying for Skype credit via PayPal. After I provided my PayPal email and password another page came up requesting that I add another debit/credit card. Now, I already have a PayPal account and have established my payment method with them (and have paid via PayPal before), so I did not understand why I was being asked for NEW debit/credit card information on the Skype payment page. It appeared that my primary card I have registered with PayPal had expired and so I proceeded to add the new card here, which was already registered with PayPal as the secondary back up card, however it still refused to continue the processing. I logged out and directly into PayPal and made this new card the Primary card. However, when trying again after be re-directed from the Skype order page several times, there does not seem to be any way of bypassing the message saying 'At this time, we are unable to accept your payment, please return to your merchant and select another payment method'. Does that mean Skype is refusing my payment through my already established verifiable PayPal account? How can I pay for my Skype credit via PayPal, as normal? Can anyone answer my simple question - please? Thanks in anticipation. Russell |

Do you not pass these things on? Did you read my post? I told you that the un-check option is no longer available. I could not have been more clear. I am asking you, not telling you to report it for two simple reasons. We are NOT customer support here in the forum, and if something requires individual Skype Name processing by Customer Service, to get something reset, or fixed this is the only method to have that happen. Even if something at first glance seems like a common problem, it is always best to submit a support request so that in the event you are wrong, Customer Service can resolve your issue, or you are at the top of the queue to be notified that your issue is resolved even if it turns out to be a common problem. If you need our help to push your issue with Customer Support if you have no response in 4 business days or did receive a response from them and it has not resolved your issue(s) we need to have on record that you did attempt to contact Customer Support before we can do this. Not our rules, Customer Supports rules. -------------------- |

Well. Hey. Guess what? I will not be buying any Skype credit then. I will buy a calling card instead and use my cell phone when I travel.
In these troubled economic times, you would think that the executives at Skype would sharpen their pencils and watch the trends. I guess not. Thanks. See you, |

This is not acceptable that I have to add a credit card to Paypal inorder to pay via Paypal. I should be able to use my existing Paypal balance to pay for Skype credit.

Your c/card details are used by PPal simply for ID purposes and/or emergency funding if required. Your card is NOT used to fund purchases. -------------------- Regards,
