Skype with Satellite?
Are you using or had experience with a Satellite with Skype?

There are quite a few of us here in North Idaho that have no choice for broadband, or telephone for that matter except with satellite. I use Wildblue, Have you had any experience with satellite, and will you share your experience. Thanks, MtntopRebel

Skype should work fine with a satellite service. The problem will arise if you subscribe to a paying service like the Unlimited Calling Plan for example. Skype determines your current location by your IP address. Satellite services use a non standard IP thus not allowing Skype to determine your correct location. Since many of Skype's services (like the UCP) depend on your location (and IP), those services will no longer work. So if you subscribe to the UCP for example, you will be charged for each call when you shouldn't have been. But for all the free services, Skype should work fine.
