Lost Skype Credit - Twice now

I have two skype accounts - 1 for home - 1 for work. Last year while away - I bought Skpye out credit. I still had £5 odd left over when I tried to use it this year in America to phone home. My online account page said I had the credit left - but my skype panel said I needed to buy some. After much frustration I bought some credit for my Work account to contact the uk.

I sent numberous support requestes, and kept getting no reply - but started recieving emails staing frist that my Skype credit was soming to an end - then that I had lost it - No assistance, no response or anything.

I have now gone to use the crdit on my work account this morning, and despite online account showing £7.81 credit left - Skpye itself will not allow me to sms or Skype out until I buy credit.

Anyone know of any way to get SKYPE support to answer or take notice?

Does anyone else think it strange that a Telecomunication company have no telephone support - or the ability to SKYPE their support?

Tim,

According to our logs you have enough credit on your account to call and send SMS.

Please try to send me a screenshot in a private message with your account and the error message you are getting in order to assist you better.

For instructions on creating a screenshot please go here:

I have just one Skype account and I used it only a couple of times, to be honest. I didn't like the fan of my laptop interfering with the calls and since I now can place VoiP calls for free via my DSL provider using a plain old telephone without a computer running, there really is no need to use Skype anymore.

Anyway, the last SypeOut was in February. However, I started to get emails saying that my Skype credit was going to expire by the beginning of June. I bought my Skype credit in December, so maybe this date was taken as the beginning of the 180 days... (Plus, now I realize that the call I placed on February 1st was only an attempt - probably Mum wasn't at home when I tried calling her...) I looked into my account at the Skype website and I still saw almost € 10.- (9 odd). I learned that I could rescue that money by SkypeOut and wanted to do so. When I opened the Skype software there came up a request to download and install a new available update - which I did. But then - when I started the new Skype software, all my credits had been gone!!! Almost € 10.- WOW.

I looked around the website for some time, tried starting the software again however, the money was gone. Same time, I still got the mails telling me that my credit would be expiring soon... Strange. So I, too, wrote a request to support and I, too, never got an answer. Instead, on June 16th, I got the final mail telling me that my money was "ka-tschink".

Even if the attempted call on February 1st doesn't count and December 16th is the date to start counting down to expiry date - then I still should have been able to place a call on June 14th in order to prolongue my account... But since the update "stole" my money and support didn't answer - big deal.

Of course, now I cannot make any screenshots anymore, now that the account is really closed... Unfortunately, I didn't think of getting help with my problem here at the forum - I was naive enough to think support would be the right address...

I, too, find it really strange that you cannot Skype support - especially if time is pressing as it was in my case. And just taking the money without even the tiniest bit of support (or just sending an answer of what quality ever) isn't really satisfying, too...

Well, you never learn enough and with this example of customer frustration service, I will definitely not recommend Skype to any of my friends or family.

So: Don't SkypeMe anymore!

My Skype panel says I have $1.30 even though I have not made any calls beyond my first call. My account page says that I have $11.06, which is the correct amount. I have sent a couple of messages but no answer. Please advise. Thank you.

My request to support was on June 14th - even with the weekend in between this makes definitely more than 4 days...

Is the € 1.10 visibale in your Skype Client on your PC or is it on your account page on www.skype.com?
If your account page still mentions €10, it will be updated in the Skype client soon. The correct balance is on your account page.

Thanks, Ike, this is really nice of you. Sad that a committed member in this forum seems to be more caring than customer service...!!!

Your original payment might still be pending. The € 1.06 is a gift of Skype: the 1 hour free calling (worth € 1.06).

stiuartas,

If it was a bank transfer, this can take up to 10 - 14 days.

Otherwise please go here http://support.skype.com/?_a=tickets&_m=submit and submit a ticket to Billing/Payments with full details, Skype needs them to look into your problem. Note that a reply can take a minimum of 4 working days.

Hi everybody,

I just wondered if there was anything new on this issue???????

Ike, you said you reported our cases to Skype - well, I haven't heard of them since... My money is still gone, I haven't received an email or whatsoever. So much for customer service (better not mention the word "care" here...)!

Bye-bye.
