My Skype contacts never show as online on my iPhone app. I have tested by logging into skype on my computer, and my contacts are online. When I open the iPhone app at the same time, however, these same contacts do not show as being online. I have never seen one of my contacts online on the iPhone app, even when I confirm they are online with the computer app. Appreciate any advice on this. Thanks!

This isn't a solution... Just saying I am having the same problem!!! I signed on to my husband's sype online. Still No one is showing online on my iPhone! I have even sent chats on my iPhone and the recipient online doesn't get that either. What is up with that?????

Well I just found this and it worked. My contacts did not show up at first but I signed on to skype on my laptop, with my husband's name. His contacts showed me online, so I called myself. My phone rang and when I answered the skype call, all my contacts that are online showed up. I guess there is no video calling on iPhone though. The only video that showed up was my pic online. Anyway, here is what i found. Hope it helps.

Hi. I am running a jb 3.0 2g iPhone. Since the recent Skype update, none of my Skype contacts are showing as being online, even when they are on my computer. Any insights?

Answer: Just updated my skype all is working fine..only suggestion is uninstall through itunes then delete skype from itunes totaly and then download and install from the store again..
