Please Help me. i Can't use Online Number in Skype 1.2.2 on iPhone 3GS!

3. i was download skype app 1.2.2 on iPhone 3GS
4. AND login by my id.
5. i run skype app
6. but displayed Not Active on my info's online number status.
7. but voice mail is Active status

ps. i can see my Phone Number on Skype Web.

How to do from "Not Active " to "Active" my Online Number in iPhone?

i have the same problem. i purchased an online number and it showed up on the skype website on my account info. but when i sign on to the iphone Skype and skype on mac, it shows online number not active. i have already received the purchase delivered email and there isn't any link or instruction as to how to activate it. does anyone know any solution ? pls help !! i believe the payment has gone thru, otherwise they won't send out the purchase delivered email. thx !! any advice/help is appreciated !!

I am also facing the same problem.
Online number only works on the iphone app if someone calls while you are in the app. Otherwise it does not ring and online status shows inactive.

Skype needs to sort this out asap otherwise pointless having the online number which i paid for to help with my business.

You should be able to receive calls to your phone from the number even though it says this. Not sure why it shows as Not Active, it's obviously a bug that needs fixing. Just try the number form a landline.

I have the same problem. This is an age-old issue with Skype. Those morons are very good at taking your money, and completely cr@p at providing customer service. The online number does not work on th iPhone 3gs. Clearly Skype are aware of this but those tossers will do bugger-all about it except to TAKE THE MONEY!

I just started using a 32GB iPod Touch with Skype loaded on it- works fine via WiFi for outgoing calls- but it also shows online number "inactive" - I sent an email to Skype support to see what they say.. will let this forum know if I get a response. I hope I can receive calls via Skype from the iPod someday with my account online number.

I'm using the iphone 3gs and I get the same nonsense. AND I can't receive calls to the iphone while in Skype. It's the only reason I bought a lousy number. C'mon SKYPE, fix this hugely, glaring bug.

There seems to be some trouble in syncing our databases which can lead to that an online number remains as "inactive" in the UI. Oftentimes, the number will actually work - do try to use it even if it still shows as inactive, although YMMV.

We are on it and making a fix happen, but I have no estimate on when it will be done.

So SKYPE should alert people to this before they go through the hassle, and communicate the number to their friends. I am currently traveling in Brazil and the WHOLE REASON I purchased this new number was so people could call me on a local Brazil number. no estimate on when the fix will be in place? shame on you Skype for 1. this happening (contrary to your assertions regarding your QA, and 2. Why didn't they give us any warning before we bought this package. I bought this online number to use it on my iphone and having set up everything for use, I get this "not active" message. I don't get incoming calls and I'm wasting the money that I've put into subscription. Really, I think Skype should fix this right away or at least give us a reasonable timeframe so we can get going on with our businesses.

I'll just add that I've asked about this issue on Twitter...I'm in the same boat...purchased the online number for business use also.

Actually there are two issues.

1. Skype software shows that number is inactive. This is a minor issue since i can still recieve calls on skype using my online number.

2. The bug is another thing. After buying this online skype number, whenever my phone is locked, my status goes to offline with voice mail. So all the calls are transferred to voice mails. Before buying online number, i was able to receive skype to skype calls even if my device is locked. In general settings i have selected keep me signed in on skype even if device is locked. This thing started to happen only after buying an online number. You should look into this. This is actually the bug, not the status showing that online number is active.

I can still use online number provided i am using Skype, and phone is not locked, and i am making some activities, then i do receive calls from online number. But as soon as the phone is locked, my status goes to offline with voice mail. I have been checking it using another Skype account on pc.

Im in the same boat as everyone here...I was getting a little fustrated, but now I feel a little better that Skype at least knows about the issue.

Same problem and I am still waiting for Skype's answer.

There is a bug that seems to make any of: Voice Mail, Online Number active, or Call Transfer active override the Stay Online setting. We're fixing it for the next release.

For the moment, it appears that switching 3G off in network settings will work around this.
