I have just downloaded the latest version of the Skype for I-Phone and I get the problem that it will not accept my password. It always indicates that my password must be between 4 and 20 characters, and trust me, they are, but it will not accept it at all. I use skype on my other Macs at home and no problem at all.
Do I need to set-up my account on my computer and than just sign-in on my I-Phone ? Michel |

I'm sorry, the password rules warning still contains out-of-date info. The password now has to be 6-20 characters long, not contain spaces, not be related to the username and it has to consist of both numbers and letters. There are other marginal constraints, but tell me how you're succeeding complying with this.

I had this problem, too. Your answer resolved the issue. It would save iPod Touch users lots of aggravation if the app could be updated to reflect the new rule for passwords.

We are both in wifi zones and we both turned airport on so we do not have the carrier network on...for the past 2 hours we have been trying to even see other on line and we cannot nor can we make calls or send messages. For the record we are both in Canada.

Hello we have just signed up for IPhone Skype to Skype on both phones and we are unable to make calls...we are both in wifi zones and each time we try to make calls all it says is you need credit - are Iphone to Iphone via Skype in a Wifi Zone not suppose to be free? We are both online and we are also not able to see each other in the Contacts Section all we see is the Skype Test Call thats the only selection.

Hello Tero:
Myself and a friend have download Skype for the Iphone. We are both in a Wifi Zone and we have been trying to make a call to each other: 1- We are both online 2. We both have each others USERID and Number in the Skype COntact List We do not see each other online. Anytime we try to call each other it says we need to pay to make the call. We are both in Canada. We also put airport ON and it still does not work which I believe should not make any difference cause either way the only person we see on line is the Skype Test Call How can this be fixed expecially if Skype to Skype is suppose to be free. |

Try verifying these:
- try opening any web page on Safari when on the wifi where you are to see that you have connectivity - My Info - Skype Status needs to be Online - do a test call to echo123 - Go to your buddy's Contact card and see to that you're calling his Skype name, not his mobile number; the credit warning pertains to Skypeout calling, it should not occur when calling skype-to-skype at all (yes, it's free) That's all I can think of... tell me how succesful you got. |
